Full Version: Bda Driver Installataion Problem (1.2.3.8)

I just tried to install version 1.2.3.8 of the Twinhan drivers for by Twinhan VisionPlus DVB-t card by runnign the included install program. It got part way through the installation when I got a message saying there had been a "debug assertion error". I checked device manager and now both entries for the VisionPlus card were marked as not working correctly. I then tried to reinstall the 1.2.3.5 drivers and the 1.2.3.6 drivers but got the same message part way through the install. Eventually, after removing both entries in Device Manager, re-starting the computer and doing a manual install of the 1.2.3.5 drivers via Device Manager I got it running again. I didn't give the 1.2.3.8 drivers another go.

System specifications: Athlon 64 X2 3800, Gigabyte K8NF-9 motherboard, on-board sound, Nvidia 6600GT video card, Dvico FusionHDTV Lite DVB card, Twinhan VisionPlus DVB card, 1GB RAM, Samsung SATA-II HDD, Samsung DVD burner. I'm running the latest (or at least very recent!) drivers for everything. Also, at least most of the drivers I'm running are WHQL - I've tried to stick to WHQL drivers where possible.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know what the issue is?

Thanks for any help!!

You just shouldn't be getting a debug assertion in released WHQL code cool.gif It's TwinHan's Programmers / QA Departments fault if you are. A debug assertion is used by programmers to check whether a condition is being met in the code, if it's not then the program will stop in the debugger. Generally something like ASSERT(pbyDataPointer != NULL) etc

Thanks JoeyBloggs. Guess I'll wait for Twinhan's next driver version and keep my fingers crossed ...
