All,
I would like to find stable software which does not; crash stop recording mid program fail to record programs crash at the end of file when playing. Compatible files with disc burning software Current installation Nebula PCI with USB tuners using Nebula software Hardware: Motherboard: Gigabyte Pentium 4 Titan Series GA-8KNXP CPU: Intel Pentium D 3.4 GHz Video Card: Geoforce 7900GT using NVidia 110.26 256 M RAM HDD Disk Drives: IDE ST3200827AS – 200 GB DVD Burner: Pioneer DVDRW 111D DVB-T card: Nebula PCI with USB tuners DigiTVHD V3.7.0.10 DVB-T Driver WDM Software: Operating System: Windows XP professional Service Packs installed: SP2 DirectX Version: ? Burning Software: Nero 8 installed DTV application installed: Nebula DigiTVHD V3.7.0.10 Signal Environment Location Bickely/Carmel WA Antenna Outdoor DTV receiver, 2 STBs, a VCR and analog receiver. All Quad shielded RG6 Masthead amplifier and distribution amplifiers installed. Optimum signals are fed into these receivers. Please Note: 1. The HDD is 85 % full. The Windows XP defrag seems unable to defrag the video/audio files. 2. About to upgrade to a 1TB drive 3. Nero 8 can control tuners although this is untried at present through DBA drivers 4. 4 USB2.0 ports are available [b]The information I am looking for; 1. I am after stable operation particularly recording a pair of HD signals 2. Signals which are compatible with Nero 8 which can record HD on standard DVDs or to make a standard DVD (downsampled) 3. I am prepared to buy some more tuners. Recommendations requested.[/b Thanks, AlanH |

3. I am prepared to buy some more tuners. Recommendations requested.[/b There are lots of these digital TV tuners nowadays. Just for fun I recently decided to browse ebay and see what kind of prices they have there. I found the cheapest brand new USB DVB-T was AU$21.95 (total price including postage). I decided to buy one and found no difference (in terms of stability) to the more expensive ones; I am using roof mounted antenna... I think these items are relatively common and commoditised now that it probably doesn't matter much which one you buy (may have mattered a few years ago)... that's my experience anyway... BTW some of these USB DVB-T are quite small and use a smaller antenna socket so check if an adaptor is included. |

As far as recording software goes, IMO its hard to go past web scheduler. It'll produce stripped down ts-mux recordings containing only PIDs relevant to the program being recorded. Last time I looked Nero could handle the file, even if it can't a quick run through project-x or a bit of editing with videoredo and away it goes.
Of course, all the above depends on reliable reception and good receivers. -------------------- Support the forum (if you can work out how to!)

Renura,
DNTV Dual Hybrid PCI-E S3 I am considering using this card to digitise many video cassettes with stereo HiFi sound tracks. If I purchase DNTV Live software, what other software will I need to purchase to be able to use the analog video and audio input? As you can see from the first post in this strand, the motherboard has stereo audio inputs. AlanH |

AlanH This device will come with bundled software that will allow you to capture from analogue video inputs (both video and audio). If you want post about DNTV related products, please post in the DNTV section of the forum -------------------- Renura Enterprises Pty Ltd - Owner of DigitalNow and MediaNow- Importers, Distributors and Retailers of Digital TV and other Digital Multimedia Solutions
