Most use VLC for their output (some output directly from DVPiper but you could inject them into VLC) and it should be possible to change the relevant config to get VLC to de-interlace. As a matter of interest, how does the note below for release 5.39 impact de-interlacing using VLC? Does this just applywhen you 'view' using DV Scheduler. Is it different in the situation when you 'stream' the output, and then open a session of VLC to monitor that stream? In the first example I suppose some parameters get passed to VLC by the code, in the second you have more direct control of VLC. QUOTE 5.39
- Changed Channel Surf to use ActiveX plugin for Internet Explorer and Mozilla plugin for other browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc). - Reorganized theme folders for easier theme management (as such previous version should be uninstalled first). - Removed deinterlace due to stability issue. - Removed cache option in Channel Surf. - Fixed channel scan for H264 video and access type. - Miscellaneous minor edits and fixes. |

As DV Scheduler runs as a service it cannot use a UNC (happy to be corrected here). A post process could possibly be used to copy/move post capture If the service is run under a regular user account rather than the system account it will have access to network resources but recording to a remove device isn't a good idea IMO. -------------------- support the forum > http://wiki.dvbowners.com/index.php/DVBOwnersWiki:About

I use DV Scheduler with a filename pattern of %n-%s[%d-%m] for most of my recordings, but am finding recently that a number of recordings do not get named correctly, and because of this my post capture task to copy "$filename" to my NAS exits with an error. The problem appears to be caused by commas in the subtitle name eg The Sopranos last week with a subtitle of "Denial, Anger, Acceptance" recorded ok but the filename on my pc was Sopranos-Denial (no file extension).
Is this something that can be/needs to be fixed in DV Scheduler, or is there a setting somewhere that I have missed that will fix it? Or do I just have to resign myself to a simpler filename pattern for programmes with commas in the subtitle name? Thanks Jill |

QUOTE (5.48 - Release Notes) - Added Auto-Add name to filename pattern (use %a). Hi efax, Saw the new Auto-Add filename pattern made it into this release. Thanks a lot. I couldn't get the updated Auto-Add page to work too well. Had trouble adding match list items and submit button didn't seem to do anything sometimes. I couldn't maintain pre-existing Auto-Add groups and couldn't add items to new ones. Tried the usual browser stuff in case I had an old include cached but no luck. I edited the underlying epgautoadd XML file and the web pages all displayed as expected and the filename pattern worked perfectly on recordings. Any thoughts? |

Is anyone else finding that from version 5.55 onward, any schedules added prior to version 5.48 are showing (none) in the name field of the auto-add list?
I'm assuming this is a problem in the new xml files that generate the auto-add list, to allow the corresponding epg-match name to be shown in a new column. The names of all schedules displayed fine between 5.48 and 5.55. (albeit post 5.48 entries did not show the channel name of the schedule, only the program name) -------------------- --- in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is a great deal of difference --- |

But 5.55 is o.k. I reported this bug to email of programmer, but email is propably ignored, because his email box is blocked due spam. |

I was having the same issue on v5.56 I went back to v5.55 and still had same problem until I rebooted - then the machine would standby/hibernate I then upgraded to v5.56 again and the machine is going to standby/hibernate without issue. Not sure I can point the finger at DV-S, it may be co-incidental. Cheers Nick |

Have just set up DV Scheduler on a Windows Vista laptop with 2 x TinyTwin usb tuners, but am having problems with the "hibernate" post processing task.
Using hibernate without "when not capturing" ticked - system hibernates as soon as a schedule finishes, even when another schedule is still running. Using hibernate with "when not capturing" ticked - system waits until all currently running schedules finish to hibernate, but then doesn't wake for the next schedule - or more correctly, it does wake, but any unprocessed hibernates send it into hibernation again (and again, and again when I restart it - depending on how many concurrent schedules were previously running). I previously had DV Scheduler running on a Windows XP desktop (now dead) and hibernating/waking without problem. The only changes between the desktop and the laptop are from XP to Vista and from a PCI card + TinyTwin to 2 x TinyTwin. Anyone have any idea of what I need to correct/change to get this working. I really do not want to run the laptop 24/7. Thanks Jill Have tried both 5.56 & 5.55 - currently have 5.55 installed - both did the same thing. |

Hi Jill, Have you tried setting up power options in Vista and letting it do the hibernation when idle? You would not put any standby/hibernation tasks in DV-S. Cheers Nick |

Hi Jill, Have you tried setting up power options in Vista and letting it do the hibernation when idle? You would not put any standby/hibernation tasks in DV-S. Cheers Nick I did try that Nick, but there must be processes running that mean the system is never 'idle' for very long so the hibernation doesn't kick in - and I wasn't confident in playing around with stopping things unless this was a last resort. I actually think I may have solved it by using this script (from the TV Scheduler wiki page) as my post processing task to handle the hibernation. It worked ok in some quick testing I did yesterday, so I will fine tune the 'time' variables and see how it goes with some real schedules over the next few days. Thanks Jill |
