I am trying to connect my PC to my Sony 46X LCD TV.
When I use the VGA analogue cable - no problems. I can get 1360 * 768 resolution which is the maximum supported by analogue cable. But when I try connecting to the HDMI port using a DVI to HDMI cable from my graphics card I can not raise the resolution beyond 480p I have a FX5200 graphics card which is supposed to support all the way up to 2048 x 1536. What am I doing wrong? |

What am I doing wrong? Probably nothing. I've had my Sony 46" V Series (I think that's what it is) and it will differ in what it will accept from the HDMI and VGA inputs. I started with the VGA and got 1360 x 768 easily, then thought about the HDMI assuming it would give better quality. I could trick it using adaptors but nothing as clear and crisp a the VGA. I now settle for the reliable and consistent VGA connection and spend time worrying about other things instead. |

OK, got it now. New drivers fixed it.
