I can't believe how dedicated you guys are to keep us up to date. It is very much appreciated.

Just tried loading the http://www.jrobbo.com/xmltvfull/Backup2/xmltvMelbourne.zip file and it says no data.

Cheers

Perth running ok again thanks heaps guys. Anyone notice this in the program headings. If it uses the word "and" it is ok but if it uses "&" instead the the title is stuffed. Example Spicks & Specks and Law & Order. Not a complaint just an observation.

can you explain this a bit more? what are you trying to do?

QUOTE (gtkp @ Jun 21 2006, 11:25 AM) *
I can see what he wants.

If there is no data in the EPG, then the auto-add scan that adds/modifies programs from the EPG automatically into the scheduling should not remove the current scheduled items.

I have had emails in the past that says this: No Data Found in source, exiting reload.
All the schedules get left alone and the warning is reported. Then I jump on the forums to find out what's going on unsure.gif

But today my EPG was wiped clean and all scheduled programs removed. The messages in the email were:
CODE
Current EPG Data Set

Saving loaded EPG data

Removed 9 item of type EPG from the schedule list.

I don't like this. I had things scheduled which got missed — anyone know what happened on pokemon? — and it's bad for our pirate DVD business ph34r.gif

Only joking folks. But I don't understand why all the data was removed. Maybe there was some data (not no data) today but whatever it was, it resulted in our EPG and schedules being cleared.

I think WS should have treated the situation as an EPG load error and reported it. In summary:
wub.gif = No data found in source, exiting reload.
sad.gif = Removed 9 item of type EPG from the schedule list.

Yep, as explained earlier, I've only got the guides with partial descriptions working at the moment, and so I put them into the directories for the full guides so that people wouldn;t have toi change their settings.

I'm still working on a solution for the full guides, but I haven;t got it sorted yet, hopefully I will get it sorted this weekend, but until then, only partial guides will be avaiable

John

Another big thankyou for all your efforts! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Noticed one very minor issue. Law and Order on Thursday (in Sydney) is showing in the epg as "Law & Order". In the xml it has been double-escaped as "Law &amp Order"... or is it just me? blink.gif

Thanks again.

Adrian

No, it's not just you. See post 225 a few posts above. smile.gif

...and it says no data..
When that happens, just check the file size in Windows Explorer. Some of the files are 0 bytes at the moment. Guess when there's a problem it can't get the data and produces a 'blank'.

jrobbo - A huge thanks to you and null for your amazing work. This community appreciates your efforts and hangs on your every post during these hard times..... : )

I have grabbed your latest ACT XML file and WS is telling me that there is no EPG data for Ten Captial even though the reload reports the following:

About to load XMLTV Data from http://www.jrobbo.com/xmltvfull/xmltvACT.zip
Earliest Entry : Wed Jun 21 00:00:00 EST 2006
Latest Entry : Tue Jun 27 23:30:00 EST 2006
Current EPG Data Set
ABC ACT : 304
ABC2 : 289
Prime Southern, Canberra/Wollongong/Sth Coast : 172
SBS Eastern : 174
SBS News : 238
Southern Cross TEN Capital, Canberra : 217
WIN Television NSW : 177

Am I mad or is there something I'm missing?

I'm sure you're not mad, have you checked that the channel mappings are still correct in WS?

Maybe the name has changed from what was mapped previously, just a thought.

Thanks Richard...you are spot on. I was thrown because WS said:

There is currently no data for EPG channel (Southern Cross TEN Capital)

on the Channel Mapping page. A closer look confirms that the channel name has indeed changed from

Southern Cross TEN Capital
to
Southern Cross TEN Capital, Canberra

Thanks heaps for the sanity check. blink.gif

i think there might be something wrong with the shows after midnight, which are getting the day before instead of 'next day'

or the motogp is on tonight and the F1's are on saturday night wink.gif

Enf...

[edit]
seems to be with the sydney full (which actually has full descriptions), the sth nsw seems to be short descriptions still (which im pretty sure will be fixed as soon as the full script is working correctly with sydney wink.gif

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, I just want to say thanks for all of the kind words and support i've been getting here lately, it's very much appreciated. It's been very trying here over the past few weeks with all of the changes that have been going on, and it's a lot of work to keep the guides going day by day. I'ts not so long ago that I could just leave it going for a month or more without any trouble, but now I need to make changes every day! I appreciate that everyone has been very patient through this process.

Also, i'd like to pass thanks onto null_pointer, paul_ahb, Calvi, and Jamie (from the topfield forums) for their hard work developing scrapers that I use to then generate the guides.

I have uploaded partial guides only for most regions today, but i've spent most of the morning so far testing Jamies scraper, and it's looking good, so tomorrow, i'm expecting to have all of the guides for all regions, both partial and full, back online. fingers crossed!

Thanks again for the support

Regards

John
