The MPEG2 Demux is part of DirectX. Check that you have a file called mpg2splt.ax in your windows system32 folder and run regsvr32 on it.

Hi, I am new to tv cards but I have got exactly the same tv card as you have and am having the same issue. Can you explain exactly what you did to rectify please?

I have seen the following post from nate: The MPEG2 Demux is part of DirectX. Check that you have a file called mpg2splt.ax in your windows system32 folder and run regsvr32 on it................

but I'm not sure how to do this. How do I find the file and how do I run regsvr32 on it? Whatever that is!

Please help. I need to get the card working before Christmas.

Thanks. blink.gif

Thanks Nate. It doesn't seem to have worked though.
My error seems to be slightly different too. My error is "cannot render mpeg2 demux filter". It comes up with this as soon as as go into the DTV program within the DVB plus software that came with the card.

I have tried re-installing the software several million times but to no avail. On top of this the media centre software doesn't pick up any channels when it scans but the aeriel works on analogue and digital tv's as a set top aeriel no problem.

Any ideas what my problem could be? The company I got the pc built by don't have clue so I am fully reliant on forums like this one. Please help!

I'm not sure, so i'm just guessing now, but try
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\psisrndr.ax
and
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpeg2data.ax

It appears you may have updated your drivers so the card now is compatable with MCE.
You also need to update DVBT-PLUS from Kworld.

http://www.kworld.com.tw/en/download/download_dvb-t100.htm

Good luck. I always have problems upgrading drivers from Kworld.

When I upgraded the Australia location auto scan didn't put the correct freq for Channel 7. Needed to change it from 177375 to 177500.

Problems I now have is no audio on HD and teletext and EPG not working anymore.

Regards,

markus

I've had this same problem with the Tevion version of this card. I was tearing my hair out for days until I realised the file that was causing it.

It's a little file in Windows/System32 folder called "mpg2splt.ax". I am assuming it was tainted due to the amount of codecs that I'd been piling onto my computer, but it seems that this card would rather you NOT have hundreds of codecs.

Logical solution, I copied the "mpg2splt.ax" file from a Windows XP machine that hadn't had any additional codecs installed on it, backed up my own version of this file, and pasted the new one over my old one.

I have attached the file to this post.

I then went to RUN, and typed:
"regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax"

A message will appear saying you have been successful. Restart your machine, then try it again.
Let me know how you get along!

NOW........ quick question.
The solution I posted above has worked on 2 machines I've tried it on so far. But one of the machines does not seem to be picking up the audio. Strangely enough, when I capture from the TV card and play the recorded file back, there IS sound on the recording!! Just none when I'm trying to watch the TV in real time. Any suggestions???

Cheers.
