Hows about makin' a deal?, Trade type thing. Options

This site has been of inestimable use for myself in setting up and finally completing my HTPC. The one thing it seems to lack IMHO is a section in which myself and my fellow members might be able to trade buy 2nd hand componentry.

I had a quick look through the forum rules and of course immediately found this

Sorry, but For Sale and Wanted threads are not allowed. The reasons for this have mainly to do with questions of legal liability, which we would prefer to avoid. As such, please use an established online auction site like eBay.com.au. Please don't create a post to point at your online auction either.

Nonetheless, I would ask if you might reconsider this decision.

If you were to set limits to those who might post in the forum to a set amount of posts already made, for eg. If a dvbowner has 100 posts, then he may post in the trade section.

I haven't got a clear idea of how such a thing might operate, but even a simple classified add type idea with no way of reply (apart from PM) might work easily.

Anyone who has an opinion on this topic, please add your two cents. I would be very interested to hear other peoples opinions on this matter.

We seem to have survived without it this long. I don't particularly want to wade though posts on cases, cpu's, video cards, hdd etc etc. There are other more appropriate forums / sites IMHO.

If someone just wanted to resell a DTV card / device privately and wanted to post it here, perhaps that should be allowed ~
