Hi Guys,
Had a search on previous discussion topics but couldn't find an answer Had my Tiny Twin since 2008 where it worked well on XP - now have Windows 7 64 installed. So, had hassles getting it to work, DNTV itself and Live TV didn't work at all etc, but was able to get it to work through Windows Media Centre. It was fantastic ...for a few days. Now, today, TV through Media Centre won't work, no idea why, no channels, can't find device, nothing had changed but fails. I've tried to reset it up, the device is there and being read, the drivers are there, tried different USB ports etc. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all the software for the tuner, but won't have a bar of it, Media Centre can't find EPG for 3000 nor find any stations. Digital TV/DNTV doesn't work, but I'm not too fussed about that! I've given up on support from Renura or whoever it is that supports their products. Does anyone have any guidance for me? I want to get the Tuner to work in Media Centre Cheers Tim |

When you install the drivers as , did you right click on the driver .exe and click on "Run as Administrator"?
Check your windows updates and see if you have update KB2529073 installed. If you do then it should be removed: http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?showtopic=12151 Make sure you have the latest motherboard chipset drivers installed make sure the USB cable and TV antenna aerial are both fitting snugly. |

The TinyTwin works perfectly fine under Windows 7, 32 and 64 bit versions, and you can use either DNTV Live! or Media Center or even other applications. The first thing you need to do is make sure that the TinyTwin itself is working fine, In order to ascertain this I would suggest the following: Install the drivers form the CD and check that the TinyTwin device appears in the device manager, as shown here ![]() Install DNTV (remember must be installed and run as administrator) Scan the channels with both tuners and make sure all is fine. If that's OK, then the tuner is fine, if it cant lock channels, then there is a problem with either the tuner or the installation. (note that if you let Windows install some other driver, the device may not work correctly or at all - use the driver from the CD or from our website.) Thanks therat and Renura. therat: - When you install the drivers as , did you right click on the driver .exe and click on "Run as Administrator"? Yep - sure did - Check your windows updates and see if you have update KB2529073 installed. If you do then it should be removed: http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?showtopic=12151 For sure, this was uninstalled when I first got the tuner working in Media Centre. Have checked again that it's not there...It isn't. - Make sure you have the latest motherboard chipset drivers installed Yes, this was done when I first got the tuner working in Media Centre. Have checked for updated chipset drivers and there have been no updates - make sure the USB cable and TV antenna aerial are both fitting snugly. Yep, theysure are! Tried different USB ports too. Was working fine. Renura: - Not sure why you have given up, before even trying. This is my first post to the forum, but there have been other inquiries to the support team. It does look like im in the right place here and appreciate your guideance. - The TinyTwin works perfectly fine under Windows 7, 32 and 64 bit versions, and you can use either DNTV Live! or Media Center or even other applications. I certainly did get it working, and it waswonderful! I'm unsure why it's now stopped. -Device Manager Yep - it's there listed as expected. - Install DNTV (remember must be installed an run as administrator) Yep - Scan the channel with both tuner and make sure all is fine. Fail, no channels found. - (note that if you let Windows install some other driver, the device may not work correctly or at all - use the driver from the CD or from our website.) I had installed the drivers on the CD, and naturally ran the Vista-X64 download too. Any Windows Drivers I should look for and remove, or not let install? I'll go through uninstall and reinstall again- keep you posted. Cheers |

- Scan the channel with both tuner and make sure all is fine. Fail, no channels found. Try on a different PC/laptop and if you get the same results, with an antenna that you know it works, then the tuner maybe dead:( -------------------- Renura Enterprises Pty Ltd - Owner of DigitalNow and MediaNow- Importers, Distributors and Retailers of Digital TV and other Digital Multimedia Solutions

Thanks - not really an option though. I know this works on this machine until this morning. Still trying... No, not an option, but if t will help you determine whether it is the tuner or something else. If you have a restore point when all was fine, you could try restoring the system to that. -------------------- Renura Enterprises Pty Ltd - Owner of DigitalNow and MediaNow- Importers, Distributors and Retailers of Digital TV and other Digital Multimedia Solutions

Beats me.
All good now in Windows Media Centre...but here's what I get with DNTV on Launch
DNTV_launch1.JPG ( 18.51K )
Number of downloads: 6
DNTV_launch2.JPG ( 22.48K )
Number of downloads: 5My Regional Settings:
REgionalSettngs.JPG ( 71.44K )
Number of downloads: 4Device Manager:
Device_Manager.JPG ( 15.48K )
Number of downloads: 2Clearly, given Media Centre can play TV now ok somethings right so I'm happy to leave it because it's working!! I'm a little worried though, because this is exactly where I got last time around for a while, until it failed this morning. Hmmm.Confused! None the less, thanks all for their help and thoughts. Might it be a good idea to create a restore point from where I am now? Soif it does go pfft, can restore back to this point and it should be all good? Cheers

the date error might be related to your Clock/Language/region settings. Also ensure that you run DNTV as administrator (right click on the icon or the .exe file and select "Run As administrator").
If you are using Media Center and it now works fine for you, then yes a restore point might be a good idea. -------------------- Renura Enterprises Pty Ltd - Owner of DigitalNow and MediaNow- Importers, Distributors and Retailers of Digital TV and other Digital Multimedia Solutions

Thanks Renura
Oh well, was working last night but same thing again this morning...boot up, can't watch TV in Media Centre. Little fella devastated he's missed Roary the Racing Car :-) - the date error might be related to your Clock/Language/region settings. I provided a screenie of my time/date settings - they looked ok to me..? - Also ensure that you run DNTV as administrator (right click on the icon or the .exe file and select "Run As administrator"). Yes, the error screen shots provided are the same regardless of running as administrator or not. Error #1 - Time Date (see note above) Error #2 - Access violation (which does indicate permissions, but no idea why) - If you are using Media Center and it now works fine for you, then yes a restore point might be a good idea. I guess can restore, but largely that's not solving the problem is it? Every day restore the system....Uggg. Any ideas ? the concept of spending a few hours uninstalling and reinstalling software, tuners and drivers everyday to watch TV (or go back to a restore point) is a little tiresome! Seems there must be something happening on shutdown or bootup....but after installing there's always a reboot or two and it works, so not sure why it'd stop because there's another shutdown/restart. It's only in the last day this is happening (2 nights) - before then it was working for a number of consequetive days with shut downs and boot ups. KB 2529073 isn't there Tuner device listed as expected (as per screen shot in prev response) Try scanning for channels it doesn't find zip - doesn't appear to see the twin tuners either, so, Tuner not really being read. Thoughts? |

Anyway - yet another unintsall reinstall and Media Centre is now picking up the tuners and currently scanning for channels. So thats looking good and Media Centre is now picking up TV.
DNTV on launch gives me the usual error messages from wrong time Time Error
DNTV_launch1.JPG ( 18.51K )
Number of downloads: 2But Regional Settings appears to be all ok?
REgionalSettngs.JPG ( 71.44K )
Number of downloads: 3So thats got me stumped. Access violation
DNTV_launch2.JPG ( 22.48K )
Number of downloads: 0It was installed ' Run as Administrator' and is launched with same. Installed to Prog Files (not x86) of course as well. So thats got me stumped too As an addition, it doesn't detect the tuner either on setup...
Notuners_detected.JPG ( 67.2K )
Number of downloads: 1So add another stumping there If it were Brad Haddin he'd not be having any question marks over being in the 11. Ok, so we're working in Media Centre, thats great - but will hold off the high fives as have been here before a fair few times. Will see if it works tomorrow. On going thoughts most welcome. Cheers |

With DNTV live, have you entered the user name and serial number? It's not needed for the TinyTwin but might help.
Be sure you follow the instructions at the bottom of the webpage http://www.digitalnow.com.au/dntvlive/download.html This post has been edited by therat: Jan 28 2012, 12:13 PM |

In relation to DNTV Live!, go to configuration/general and click on "Reset Defaults" see if it fixes your issue.
In relation to the rest of it, as previously suggested, I would try on a different PC to see if you get the same behavior. -------------------- Renura Enterprises Pty Ltd - Owner of DigitalNow and MediaNow- Importers, Distributors and Retailers of Digital TV and other Digital Multimedia Solutions

Will try the reset defaults. Cheers Tim |
