@MartyB

So how'd you go after CityK's tip in the Linux-Media mail list?

Hi,

I have this card working fine under Media Center, but I was interested in trying this card with MythTV on Linux, has anyone had any success?
It would have been nice if Digital Now had put some effort in getting real Linux support for this card, especially considering the chipset is already supported.

Thanks.

The owner's dodgy at best...
Not a friendly/professional chap at all IME.

You'll find ways to get it or a derivative working w/little thanks to them.
Just do lots of homework....
I've been through the same process with other cards in the past.
You just need to choose your cards carefully.
I can't recommended anything, been out-of-the-loop so long, don't recall much.

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to devote to Linux support for this card, sorry.

All the work required (compiling drivers?!) would not be worth it.
Seems to me that Linux support would be a great selling point,
and all you would need to do is grease the wheels for a few Linux-Media developer nerds.
Nothing against nerds of course, I'm one myself.
Can't really complain though as I understood that the card had dodgy Linux support.
I just thought that by now things might have magically improved on the Linux front.

Yeah I went with some other stuff eventually....
HVR-2200, but been meaning to upgrade to something else for ages.
Also got a DVB-C setup working, was less hassle in many ways.
