Will the Avermedia Twinstar tv A825 USB work with W10?

Otherwise, any suggestions for a USB twin for W10 would be appreciated.

Don't know. Apparently the tinytwin's, you'd have to search though. At one point people always recommended a powered hub to plug USB sticks into, not sure if that's still the case.

If you have a desktop and a spare pcie slot, thoroughly recommend considering a twin-tuner 7164 instead. They just work fine for me. http://www.digitalnow.com.au/product_pages/Dual7164.html

Have taken the plunge and YES .... the Twinstar works fine. Not only that, it can handle the new Ch9 HD .264

I would like to buy another
Avermedia Twinstar tv A825 USB

As a guide to price on 12/2/2011 I paid $77.50 for one so I guess $50 including post would be reasonable.
I do not require the remote or antenna.

Please Right-click on my forum name "vur" and message me.

Not an avermedia I know, but I've recently bought 5 realtek RTL2832 based tuners off ebay for a SDR project for $11 a pop, delivered. They work fine for DVB-t too. Under Windows 10 I had to disable Windows 10's driver update as it was installing some junk from 2009, but that aside they all work well. As a bonus they have built in support in most linux distributions too. Although I haven't tested it, they probably require to be run on USB2 ports (not just a usb2 hub) to avoid USB related driver problems under Windows 8 and 10.

As with most tuners signal level is important. Too little, dropouts. Too much, dropouts too. Under linux tzap let me monitor the devices reported signal quality level while I tweaked the signal level reaching them to get the optimal results.

Looking for an alternative to TV Scheduler Pro? Take a look at dvscheduler for Windows or tvheadend for linux.

Where did you get the drivers from? I have an old Twinstar here I would like to try with Win 8.1 but can't find any drivers.

The Windows 7 drivers should work OK. I've used, and still am using, the 2004 (ie XP era!) drivers for the tinyusb (twinhan beetle) on Windows 10 with a fair degree of success. The driver does occasionally puke when coming out of hibernate if the tuners have had power removed from them, possibly it doesn't properly account for having to do a full cold restart of the device.
