Sorry for not coming back sooner, was just doing an update again and checked their site and also saw now they have completely removed it from their site as previously it was
"Coming soon" no E.T.A

Truly sucks, yes are signal is fine on the main TV with the QUAD card, sometimes it goes off on some channels but only when it rains, I do notice on their site they say the DUAL
USB is not verified for 64 Bit but the Quad card is.

But thanks for the feedback though I think I will continue with my upgrade and keep Media Center on Windows 8.1 and transfer across the Quad card, it is all setup and working
fine other than I have not transferred the Quad card over yet but it is verified on Windows 8.1+64 Bit.

Not sure if I am going to transfer over my Soundgraph component or should I go something different for Remote control ?

Should this combo be pretty stable and happy, been in the process of upgrading my HTPC then waited to see what would happen with WIndows 10 and now that MCE support fully gone I am going to run Windows 8.1
with a Quad Card and Cyberlink which is already running and very good, just have not transferred across the Quad card yet.

cheers

I don't know... I tought MS/MCE had a default driver that is installed, so if it is, mine is screwed in a big day for whatever reason.

So, uninstalled/re-installed MCE, no difference, un-installed all DNTV software and then re-installed the DNTV Live decoders and now all channels seem to be going along, going to try recording all 4 tuners next.

Hmmmmmm, re-scanned about 3 times now and it picks up all of the channels, made sure me postcode was right, but I don't know if that has anything effect anyway, occassionally now I am getting an error "Video files are not installed that are required to display....." bla bla bla, restarted MCE and PC like it says, but to no effect.

Incredibly frustrating, have 1 other PC I can try the card in but not tonight, to see if everything does work ok and it is just this PC/Setup.

Looked on that site and didn't see anything in particular, are there any tools or tips, to see what MCE is trying to use as the decoder ?

ANybody have any idea why MCE will not display some channels since I have put this new card in ?? The channels all play fine in DNTV Live, but for some reason some channels are just blank on MCE ? Are there any tools I can use or install to check decoders or see what is going on in MCE, this has only happened since I put the new card in. No errors, just a black screen, nothing about no signal, so it seems like decoding is not working for some reason. No errors in any event logs either.

Had signal issues, which I half expected, dropped in Dick Smith on the way home and picked up a Kingfisher 2 way splitter/amplifier acutally hoping I would not need it. Just plugged it and ran the Quad Tuner off that and also the Bedroom which runs off an AV sender, I now have perfect reception on all channels on both Units, I think this is the first time for a ALONG time it is had been like that. The Amplifiers have never really worked for me, but this is the first time I have tried one in the new house, no longer in an apartment in South Melbourne.

I must admit this seems to be the best device I have pruchased from DNTV, better than the Tiny Twin.

OK looks like I won't be re-selling this motherboard when it eventually gets discarded, placed the card into a pci-e x1 slot right next to the current slot and it seems to be working fine now, slight relief that is for sure, well not that my motherboard is farked on one slot, but at least the card I got is in good working order it seems, all channels scanned in DNTV Live, just doing media center now, fingers crossed.

Installed the card, all of the devices appear, read the notes about possible problems with AMD motherboards.

I have the latest graphic drivers on my machine, just up-revved to the latest motherboard bios, go to scan in either DNTV Live or Media Center and it just hangs, seem to lock onto 177500 kHz and then it just hangs, the same for Media Centre.

Before this, have had a Dual Tiny Twin and alos pci-e low profile dual tuner working in the PC no problems what so ever, so what is the go, I assume I am the only person that has had this issue as is usually the case.

Do you actually have .Net 3 installed ?

With .Net 2.0 is the fundamental version, 3 and 3.5 were addon's to .Net 2.0, so maybe you need somethinng from .Net 3.0 ?

Even more frustrating I have just got MCE on WIndows 7 setup and it works fine, see both tuners and lets me happily record 1 channel while watching another or recording 2 channels. So now I may as well just use MCE because that works fine. Anyway I am done with this for now because we are moving house on Tuesday, I would still like to use Scheduler Pro for recording, so I want to know what I have setup wrong or what I am doing wrong because obviously everyone else is fine.

I re-enabled my Hybrid device so that I could test your more tuners theory. Set DNTV Live to use those 2 tuners and left scheduler Pro with the 2 TinyTwin tuners and I STILL GOT the DNTV Live in use error message. I guess it is just my setup or whatever which is causing this to be problem, because all I know it all used to work and all I have done is upgrade both DNTV Live! and Scheduler Pro and now I am stuck with this.

Ok, this is VERY VERY frustrating and is poor if you ask me, but of course my opionion won't count for anything even though I have been a loyal purchaser of DNTV products.

All I know is I used to be able to record 2 channels on Scheduler Pro with my 2 tuners and now I can't no matter what I select in DNTV Live, so you explain to me how that works, how come I get screwed by upgrading to new versions of the product. What you are saying is I should go and buy some more tuners right ?

I can't believe I am the only person this has happened to ?? Surely I can have a Tiny twin with 2 tuners and have Scheduler Pro use those 2 without having an error message keep saying DNTV Live is using a tuner, when it isn't even bloody started!!!! How is that correct behaviour ?

Can somebody please explain what you guys have done with this whole Ranking/Status and how they hell I can get Scheduler Pro to use both Tuners if DNTV Live is not currently running live TV.

At the moment, I am unable to record 2 shows on Scheduler Pro, I can set 1 channel recording, but no matter what I change the settings to I cannot get it to record 2 channels at the same time at the moment.

What is the difference between InUse/Active ??

What order should I set the Tuners in Scheduler Pro, so I can record a channel and still watch TV ????

I will try and do some more recordings and try to re-produce, I understand that they should talk and communicate, it was just I was getting this error message and I had not even started DNTV Live, when I turned off the Multi-Instance it seemed to start working ok. We are just in the middle of moving house, so packing stuff up.

We just had the wall plug replaced and it seems that was causing alot of our reception issues that would come and go, we get awesome signal now, well the new tenants of our apartment will anyway.

We now get the luxury of our own TV Antenna in our own house.

restart pc, NO DNTV Live, 2 recordings on different channels via Scheduler Pro and I get that error message, so what is going on, I never used to have this problem until a lot of the recent updates, I used to be able to do this, so something has changed, is there a setting in DNTV Live I need to alter ??

Ok I don't know if this is just co-incidence, but I Just turned off the Multi-Instance made and set 2 recordings to go and it worked fine.

OK there might be some confusion here, I don't use DNTV Live! for recordings ok ?

So when DNTV Live! IS NOT RUNNING I want to be able to use both tuners in Scheduler Pro are you telling me this is not possible now ?? DNTV Live takes one tuner no matter if it is running or not ?? Am I missing something or have I not described my issue properly ?

Ok I have installed the new versions of Scheduler Pro and also DNTV Live! So I am at 2.0.7.3 and 1.3.7 respectively.

Now DNTV Live! is telling me that it has Tuner 0xe4 as InUse and that 0xe5 is Available, so I assume that this is my problem, how do I now share the Tuners so that when DNTV Live! is not actually started it does not keep the Tuner held so that Scheduler Pro cannot use it ?

Trying to record 2 things at once and the 2nd recording is giving the following error message.

"Found supported DTV device (DigitalNow Tinytwin Dual USB)"
"Device already in use by a DNTVLive! Instance"

I have just restarted the PC to make sure nothing was opened, check the processes and DNTV Live has not been started at all.

WHy has this started happening, is there a new version I need to upgrade to or new drivers or something ?

I have installed HTTP Server version 2.0.6.7 of DNTV Scheduler Pro (Java version 1.6.0_17)
and Version 1.3.6 RC1 of DNTV Live

Do you have videoReDo? If so then cut the first minute off the recording and save. The remaining recording should play fine. The other thing to do is to try different players. This happens to me now and then so I created a portable version of Media Player Classic with the k-lite mega codec pack. It plays everything.

cheers

But no, don't have videoReDo, but really can't and don't want to have to do this, I should not have to! smile.gif

Well VLC used to be fine, but now they won't even play in VLC, video is fine, but no Audio, Media player and MCE as well same result.

So what is the deal here, what is going on, If I record using DVR-MS on Scheduler Pro I have no trouble with audio on both HD/SD channcels. I want to use the MPG recording, which I had by default, however, turns out last night we have started recordings again for the night that I get no audio on HD channels sad.gif

WIth MPG recording, however, using DVR-MS no problems what so-ever, what is the issue ? How can I track down the problem ?

Need any info ?

Michael, I will take a look at how this could be occuring, in the meantime you can disable boost mode from the configuration's, tv settings page to see if it resolves the issue.

Will give it a try.... thanks....

I have noticed with this new version that with the Changing of channels sometimes I lose audio after the CHannell has changed, no audio just video, I have to exit out of DNTV Live and then start it again to get the audio back.

I am using the DNTV Live! Audio decoder and using the Ditigal Output on my Motherboard, was never an issue in the previous release.

QUOTE (Pretzal @ Dec 26 2009, 11:40 PM) *
Hi,

Santa was very kind to me this year - I got a new Digital Now Dual digital PCI tuner and win 7 64 bit and now 4GB of Ram.

So far I have managed to get the tuner installed in win 7 ok - I can watch and record in Media centre without any troubles but I cannot get DNTV Live to find any tuners.

I previously owned an old DNTV Live DVB-T Pro and have the old DNTV Live! CD and software - as I have not bought a new computer I believe this is ok to continue using.

I have followed the instructions on digitalnow's website including not installing in the program files (x86) directory ( I have installed in a directory I called c:\programs) and also setting DNTV live to run as administrator. Once installed using the old DNTV live CD, I then updated to the latest version of DNTV Live 1.3.6. When I start DNTV live, under configuration and hardware information no tuners are detected.

I have also setup DNTV Scheduler PRO, including the EPG and channel mapping. It can detect 2 tuners being AF9015 BDA Filter: 0xE4 and AF9015 BDA Filter: 0xE5. However I cannot get it record. From the log I get:

2009/12/26 21:48:06.884 - win32-DLL-BDA : The registry information cannot be read.
2009/12/26 21:48:06.884 - win32-DLL-BDA : The registry information cannot be read.
2009/12/26 21:48:06.894 - win32-DLL-BDA : No Supported DTV Cards could be found.

and an error message "Error starting capture: with (-3) Will retry in 60 seconds"

I believe if I can get DNTV live to work then Scheduler will follow. I have reinstalled DNTV Live once already with no joy.

Does anyone know what I have done wrong??

regards,
Pretzal

Sounds a bit like the old you need to register the software before the Software will recognize and the user PCI card ? In cofiguration there is a Login tab where you put in the Username, Serial Number. Usually gets emailed to you.
