Exciting news for the many that have asked...
I recently had the opportunity to download updates to all of the libraries that I use to make Hip, and all of a sudden it started working on Windows 7, both 32 AND 64-bit. This is still a 32-bit program, but so long as it is installed in the default 32-bit directories I had no problems. It is probably a bit early to say that I have all of the answers, and I need people to download and test the new build which is available here: http://www.byremote.com.au/HIP/Beta/HipInstallComplete.EXE. I would love to update the installer to a new MSI tool, but I cannot afford the expense of these installers (why are software installers so expensive), but again it seems to work. Please use at your own risk and report your findings here. -------------------- |

Hi,
Exciting news for the many that have asked... Please use at your own risk and report your findings here. I didn't know HIP had problems with W7. I've been using 3.02.14 since W7 (32) RC & RTM. I think I had some error messages with 3.0.12, hard to remember that far back. I do have times that HIP has to be restarted. Keys stopped working, even though they are still defined OK. I'll try the new one. Have you thought about adding a "Triple Tap" ability to HIP? Actually, it probably needs to be "Quad Tap". Like SMS: 1ABC, 2DEF, etc. Thanks, dRdoS7. |

It seemed to be hit and miss whether it would work or not, and it certainly did not work on a 64-bit machine. I am having difficulty finding time for Hip development, but problems and suggestions are always welcome.
