Question for Renura who's still on holiays, but maybe someone else knows the answer. The Sunwave MCE Remote on the digital now site, does it a) work with HIP, and will it shut down and wake up a PC from suspend? Try as I might I can't get my Dvico Remote to wake the PC so I'm looking for a substitute. Alternately I may just get one of the MCE clone remotes off EBAY. I don't need the remote, just the receiver.

I have just installed MCE 2005 and also using WS for my scheduling. I have a Tiny USB and a Dvico DVBT and an Asus Mini3000 tuner, so 3 tuners in all.

My plan is to use the Tiny for MCE and the Dvico and Asus for WS, but for some reason every schedule fails with "Producer start failed with code: -103".

I have successfully tested it previously but now it's not dice.

In MCE there's only the Dvico and the Tiny to choose from... i've unticked the dvico so MCE won't use it but then when you go back into signal settings in MCE the dvico option is ticked again! I can't understand why it's not using the asus though, because that's not even an option in MCE.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm using latest version of WS and it's registered.

I've just reimaged my pc and re-installed 1.3.2. For some reason the "channels" window no longer floats, instead it's on the right hand side of the screen and is transparent. It automatically appears when I double click anywhere on the current video window. Double clicking on the video window used to switch between maximised and "restored" mode of the window. Is there some setting in configuration I'm missing to switch it back to the "floating" mode? I've searched and searched and can't find anything!

EDIT ah never mind found it, had it set in "HTPC" mode. Yay!

I was just wondering if this was on the agenda. I set up WS so I can access it remotely, and it actually works beautifully from my Nokia 6120 via 3G, however the EPG page is virtually unreadable because of the screen size (not WS's fault obviously). I was wondering if a simple mobile version of the epg page might be in the works or possible? I was thinking maybe wizard style so you choose the day, the channel, and then the program. No real need for descriptions etc though maybe have them as an option, just to reduce on bandwidth charges? If I was any sort of Programmer I'd try it myself.

JRobbo, another big vote of thanks for all your hard work. I have used your guides for ages and they were fantastic... I'm sorry to see them go but totally understand your reasoning. Thanks again, you truly are a DVBT Hero in Australia.

It's new. DNTV is 1.3.2, but WS is 5.0.0.7 (it's a development version of the commercial version of WS). There is now a 5.0.0.9 but I haven't installed that yet. I only recently upgraded from the last free version of WS (I think it was 4 or something like that?). I might try going back to the last stable version as I know being a dev version this isn't officially supported yet.

Hi null and co, I just thought I'd post a problem I'm having with 5.0.0.7 in here (haven't yet upgraded to 5.0.0.9).
I've posted this in the DNTV forum as well in case it's a DNTV issue.
QUOTE
Having another problem playing back TS files in DNTV Live, particularly when they are timeshifted and being recorded in WS 5.0.0.7 simultaneously. This could also be a WS problem as well, i will probably post this in the thread in the WS Development forum.

The problem occurs when you are timeshifting. For instance last night I was watch Getaway which finished recording at 8:45. I started watching about 8, and it was working fine, but at 8.45 (when the recording finished), the playback froze in DNTVLive. I ended up having to end the task to get out of it. From that point on, DNTV Live refused to play the file, all I would get is a black screen... but it would still play any other TS file. I ended up watching it in Media Player Classic (annoying in itself since it doesn't have the great FF/REW features that DNTV Live does).

I had also started a second recording of the Bionic Woman, and timeshifted that as well, and yep the same thing happened again when it finished recording at like 9.40 or so.

If further info is required please let me know.

Okay, working now with Cyber DVD Decoder. Weird thing was that with DTV encoder, when I tried to play a TS file and then went back to decoder settings it had defaulted to the intervideo decoder (I think it's installed on my system). From memory one of the problems with intervideo is that only certian versions would play back TS files successfully? Anyone ever work out which one, because it definitely made live TV much better to watch!

It should work with the cyberlink dtv decoder too and it does work on the system I just tried, I made the suggestion to see if it was some other issue, I doubt it very much that it is a Web Scheduler issue. Try the cyberlink video decoders again or the power dvd one if you got it.

Ok I'll give it a try tonight. I thoughtI already tried the Cyber DVD one's but maybe I didn't.

The only other thing that's changed is that I moved one of my hard drives out of my shuttle box into an external USB case, this is the HDD that it records onto, but I don't see how that would make any difference. I was worried about a possible slowness in throughput but after testing it seems to record everything beautifully apart from this floating point problem.

I'll test it again tonight and report back.

Change the decoder to he DNTV Live! and try again.

Ah yes I already know that works, but I have always used the cyberlink in the past and that worked fine previously before the change to the new WS. I would happily use DNTV Live decoder except that when watching HD channels (and with the increased prevalance of HD programming) it just doesn't cope on my PC, but Cyber Link works beautifully. I don't want to have to switch decoders each time I want to change channels.

Would WS 5.0.0.7 be causing a problem?

I recently made some changes to my PC.

I've upgraded to the latest and greatest WS Pro, using Nullpointers Test build 5.0.0.7.

When recording ts files I have WS set up as a service and with the same login I use on the PC so that I can timeshift with DNTVLive!.

I had reinstalled 1.3.2, but now when I try to play back a TS file I get an "invalid floating point operation". I believe I'm using the lastest TS Source filter.

I'm using the Cyberlink DTV encoder.

As far as I can see, the only real change in my system is the newer Version of WS, but the error occurs in DNTV Live.

Any ideas?

- What OS are you testing on
- What are your system specs
- Installed as service
- Installed as default SYSTEM account user

Just bought my shiny new activation key so had to try out the latest and greatest. I'm using an old box which I've shoved a 500gb drive into and so far it's working beautifully. Specs are:

Win XP Pro AMD 2500 512MB RAM GA 7N400 PRO Mobo, 10GB HDD for Windows and 500GB HDD for Storage.
Have a Dvico DVBT Tuner and an Asus 3000 USB tuner installed.
Installed as a service, yes
Installed as default System account, no, using separate user so I can timeshift whilst still recording. I tested all this last night and it works fine, watched Summer Heights High with about 5 minutes delay whilst recording Prison Break in HD off Channel 7 and worked flawlessly. This was all with 5.0.0.7.

Hi Null,
Just wondering. With the posssible imminent release of V5.0, will an activation code bought now work on 5.0, when it is officially released? I have been thinking of purchasing but now that I see a new version on the horizon thought I'd hold out for it.
Thanks for all your great work.

Great Suggestions. There has been talk for ages about a media centre style upgrade to DNTVLive! but perhaps just a few alterations to make the selection of files easier would work really well and not make an upgrade that renders the program unrecognisable to existing users.

I had a similar problem. I had recorded a TS mux with WS and was playing it back in DNTVLive!, and was then fast forwarding through the ads, but the first time I hit the fast forward button it actually went backwards. This only seems to happen since 1.3.0.

So just wondering what the plans are for this. Now that this is an "official" DNTV product, does this mean the scheduling will be removed from DNTV Live? Kind of makes it redundant. It would probably be better for DNTV Live to simply playback, view live TV and Timeshift, and all the scheduling be left to Scheduler Pro. Hopefully this will leave the programmers free to concentrate on a new Gui for us all smile.gif

I'm having a few problems with the dwxmltv guides at the moment, they aren't generating properly. I am working on it, i'll hopefully get them sorted in the next day or two.

The ozxmltv guides are working just fine thanks to uryan, as mentioned you just need to change your channel mapping

Regards

John

Ah okay cool thanks guys. JRobbo you are a hero to the nation smile.gif

Just thought I'd drop a quick post to let everyone know that I just installed Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04. Well, TinyUSB works out of the box... no drivers required, I just installed MythTV, and with a bit of configuration it works. Picture is a bit jagged in places... but it does work okay. It also works in conjunction with the Desktop effects, the Desktop cube etc. I haven't got a remote working with it yet but I haven't really tried. Will post more if and when I get it up and running.

Hi JRobbo and co, Just wondering is there still a problem with the guides, or has a new one surfaced? I'm using the dwxmltv guide for melbourne and it's only showing info up until Saturday 28 april. ozxmltv guides for melbourne seem to be still blank, are they still down?

Ah, thanks! It works!

Only problem now is that for some reason I can't playback TSMux files recorded in WS. This seems to happen every now and again inexplicably for no reason whatsoever and usually a reinstall of WS/DNTVLive fixes it... though I tried that, it worked for a day and then stopped again. Will keep trying, unless someone has any ideas about that? wink.gif

You could associate the ifo with DNTV Live! Have a look in the manual on how to do this. So when you double click the ifo file in explorer it will launch DNTV Live and play the files.

Regarding the association of files with DNTV Live, I have never been able to get this to work. With any other application eg Media Player, Itunes etc etc, you can simply associate various media files and then when you double click on those files in Windows Explorer they start in the specified app. But with DNTV Live I have never been able to get this to work, you still have to use the "open" dialog to start the file manually. I want to be able to associate ts and avi files with DNTV Live but it just doesn't seem possible to do that, could this please, please, please be a feature of the next version?

If I am doing something wrong and there is a particular process or option I need to tick (and believe me, I've tried them all), can someone please list the steps required for this to work?

I've been running Vista since November and have had no problem running DNTV and media player on my second monitor. In my case, all I had to do was
- start up DNTV
- un-maximize DNTV
- drag the DNTV window to the second monitor - at this point there is no picture
- close down DNTV
- start it up again - it automatically starts in the second monitor and now I have a picture

Peter, do you use one of the VMR options (VMR7 or VMR9?) I'll try this tonight.

When you maximise it on the second monitor does the cursor get "trapped" on that screen? Or is that only with MCE?

Also, what video card do you have? I have a lowly ATI Radeon 9550.
