Got build 83 working on Windows 7 Rc1 (7100) today. Running on an i920 in 64 bit mode with 6GB memory, HVR 2200 capture card.

Had to change the "start.bat" file to:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java" -jar "C:\Program Files (x86)\TV Scheduler Pro\TVSchedulerPro.jar" -log -port 8420

This is because I have both 32 and 64 bit versions of Java installed. Perhaps "start.bat" is not a good name, "start" is a batch command and if you leave off the ".bat" you just start another session.

Also I had to alter the tuning details for Crystal Palace to this:

station.1.57.0.name=C25
#station.1.57.0.freq=506000
station.1.57.0.freq=505834
station.1.57.0.band=8

station.1.57.1.name=C22
#station.1.57.1.freq=482000
station.1.57.1.freq=481834
station.1.57.1.band=8

station.1.57.2.name=C32
#station.1.57.2.freq=562000
station.1.57.2.freq=561834
station.1.57.2.band=8

station.1.57.3.name=C28
#station.1.57.3.freq=530000
station.1.57.3.freq=529834
station.1.57.3.band=8

station.1.57.4.name=C34
#station.1.57.4.freq=578000
station.1.57.4.freq=578166
station.1.57.4.band=8

station.1.57.5.name=C29
#station.1.57.5.freq=538000
station.1.57.5.freq=537834
station.1.57.5.band=8

Before I did this I did not find any stations at all, now I've got 20+ stations.

Will continue to test out and report any errors.

so which version of Java do you have in your path 32 or 64, if you just run java what one runs?

Where did you get the frequencies from? if you can confirm they are correct and not just offsets of the official frequencies I will add these to the build.

1 - You get the 64 bit version by default, you get errors with util.dll because this is 32 bit.

2 - I'm certain these 'offset' frequencies are correct, I've always used them. Had a search around and this is nearly correct, the actual offset is 167 not 166 but I think most software only accepts an even number offset for some reason. Will try and find a table of all UK frequencies for you.

Found another small problem with the start_background.bat file. Because this is run by the scheduler there is no inherited actual drive and path. You need to add the following to the file:

C:
CD "\Program Files (x86)\TV Scheduler Pro"

It then works ok.

you mean the 64 bit version is in your path by default?
Is it not possible to just get the 32 Bit version of Java, sorry I have not looked at 64 bit stuff yet.

ok will add them

There should be a run from or working directory area of the schedule task, this will allow you to set the starting dir to where the bat file is run from.

EDIT:
Yes there is a "Start in (optional):" setting for the task action in Windows 7 Task Scheduler, you need to set that.

What about

station.1.57.6.name=C31
station.1.57.6.freq=554000
station.1.57.6.band=8

station.1.57.7.name=C27

I will need to check this out. They are new MUX's which, as yet, do not have any stations on them.

When you install JAVA you can chose to install 32, 64 or both. It seems to be that 64 becomes the default.

I did try the "start in" directory on the schedule task, but it did not seem to work. Will give it another go.

Finally got this to work. I needed quotes around the batch file to start, but no quotes around the the "Start in".
So it is now:
Program/script: --------> "C:\Program Files (x86)\TV Scheduler Pro\startTVSP_back.bat"
Start in (optional):" ----> C:\Program Files (x86)\TV Scheduler Pro

Found another very small problem in the signal strength is all wrong, see output below from a small 1 minute capture:

that is just how your device reports it, this data is directly from the driver as is, ws does not alter it.

Hi,

I'm having issues capturing on certain channels and doing any sort of channel scan.

I can record on channels 2, 9 and SBS but not on 7 or 10, I'm in Sydney.

I was using an older version of the software but I'm havin gthe same issues with Rev 99.
I'm running Vista Ultimate with SP1 and a Twinhan DVB card, and I've tried using both the native Vista drivers and the original BDA v1.6 drivers.

Any ideas? Or is it time to retire the tuner card and buy a new one?

The error looks like a signal related tune failed but your device is reporting tuning worked so I am not sure what is going on.

That you can record some channels and not others and that all channels fail a channel scan that is just weird.

It could be your hardware but before you get a new device try a few different software app/driver version first to see if it is just something screwy with WS.

Hi Null

I do not understand this. The ORIGINAL Crystal Palace frequencies are correct for direct Freeview reception from this transmitter.

I did extensive searches to find the correct frequencies. Most sources do not qoute the +/- 166/167 Khz. Nearly every card will tune in the correct channels without the offset, but there are a few cards that will not work without specifying them exactly. Have a look around, it might have been in some technical articles from BBC engineering.
