I have just realised that after enabling always on top, after i change channels once (sometimes twice) from any channel to any channel, and then click on another window, the other window comes up to the top and obscures the video window.

The problem rectifies itself if i go to the config menu and then close it via the X button on the top right corner.

I have:

Abit AN7
Xp-M 2600
1gb ddr 400 ram
2x 120gb hdd in raid 0
asus GF4 TI4800SE 128mb with nvidia 66.93 drivers

sw: dntv live! 1.1.1

any suggestions?

To enable always on top, you must tick the box and exit the application, netx time you launch it shdoul be fine. Unless of course there's some other application on oyur system that seomhow disables it and takes over smile.gif

just tried going into config via the ricght lcick menu on hdtv, unticked and reticked the always on top, exited the program, restarted the program, and exact same problem still exists. firefox and windows explorer and other proggies go ove the top of the video window after one channel change.

This is similar problem that I spoke to you about. My system will not allow me to actually tick the box. The tick comes up and then immediately disappears.
I also have trouble with the remote selecting file type when opening recorded programs. The box for selecting media opens and immediately closes with the remote, not allowing selection of media files. This part works with the mouse, however the DNT live always on top won't work with mouse or remote.

OK I have fixed the problem with DNT Live always on top.--thanks to CDD
In the Configuration mode if you select HTPC mode in the HTPC settings you can't also select DNT Live always on top in the General settings.
You can select one or the other.
The fact they are on two different settings was the confusing thing to me, especially when first setting up.

I have never enables the HTPC mode, and it is currently disabled, yet I am still having the same problem with always on top as described in my first post.

Who does the programming for DNTV live anyway? Ive just found out that since winamp and wmp 10 has been using the dntv live video codec to play all my mpg files, it bloody well stretchs them to a 16:9 widescreen format, so my 4:3 videos look squashed and my vids that already were 16:9 now have even fatter black bars at the top and bottm

:-( x 100

Hi holdenkicks,
We do the programming for DNTV Live!, why?

The fact that some other application in your PC decides to use one of the decoders installed by DNTV Live is really beyond our control.

It should be WinAmp or whatever other application that should have the option to allow you to use any decoder present in your PC, not DNTV Live! to prevent other applications to use the decoder.

Having said that, if it bothers you, then you can un-register the DNTV live! decoder (or reduce its priority as mentioned to you in other posts) and use the Cyberlink DTV, see if WinAmp likes that better.

Cheers
