Anyone use anything on the Mac to convert SDTV or mpeg to Xvid/Divx... have my PC setup to record, but since my Mac is a core duo, i'll use that to encode. I've seen Handbrake, but that only does DVD->Xvid...
Any suggestions? |

If you have the DivX plugin installed it can also do DivX. It also has a basic video editor built in. I'm using it with a Twinhan Alpha and it seems to be a great one-stop solution. |

XviD is a video codec library following the MPEG-4 standard, specifically MPEG-4 Part 2 Advanced Simple Profile.
It is not too hard to decode it. But if you require the hight quality of conversion, then try this video converter for mac, i have been using it for months. -------------------- The best free mac video converter.

I always use this Video Converter for Mac to convert mpeg video to xvid video, it works pretty well for me, you may download it for a try,

Try ffmpegx, it is a totally freeware that works well, i am always using them to take conversion.
