I recently changed to Mac for all my computers in the house, the missus already had a macbook. While the Elgato software looks nice it is a bit flakey. I ended up re-doing my HTPC and putting it in a spare room only for recording. Turns on records, then I transfer to my Time Capsule. The Mac mini is hooked up to the Plasma.

The mini works nicely with OSXBMC for once there is silence in the Lounge even when the Mini is on. The apple remote also does the job with OSXBMC.

I wanted to get rid of all PC's but for PVR duties windows is still the best.. Unless we could talk null into doing a port.. wink.gif

You don't really need a codec pack, 'ffdshow' should do it all..... packs usually just muck things up...

I always had that problem with my Lifeview, only early versions of WS seemed to work. I tried many things but it was never reliable.
Bought a Tiny Twin, and have never had a problem since....

Should be fine, it will all depend on your exisiting signal, the current point at my wall has 4 splits to 3 tuners and a set top box. Picture is always great on any\all...

Wait until you connect it all up and test before bringing in more possible problems...

There is an Autodelete after so many days for each schedule item in " Edit ", but it sounds like you either need bigger drive or setup an alternate Capture PATH for those times when it is full....

When it is all said and done if you want to record Digital TV you need a big hard drive, there should be no need to break up a recording, purely for space reasons.....
