This is an unofficial experimental version of DigitalWatch I have put together.

http://marty.id.au/dvb/DigitalWatch726.zip
(Latest Version - Now includes the latest channel scanning utility and default files and images)

This version is BDA only and should support any DVB-T capable drivers.
Features added in this version:

Now and Next support for BDA cards
Smooth Font Rendering
DVR-MS Recording

CaptureFormat options (in settings)

0 = TSMux
1 = DVR-MS
2 = Full TS

Nice work Martin.

It'd be good if you could make the Smooth Font Rendering an option. I tried implementing it a while back but did away with it because it causes black rings around the edge of the characters.

I've noticed that if i don't make a dvr-ms recording then i get an exception closing the program.
CaptureFormat = 0 - if i do a recording it exits fine, otherwise i get an exception.
CaptureFormat = 1 - always get an exception closing the program.
Not a huge issue, but something to fix.

Keep up the good work.

New version here:

http://marty.id.au/dvb/DigitalWatch726a.zip

This version by default shouldn't do anything new (besides the BDA EPG support)

Instead two options can be used in the settings.ini:

CaptureFormat
0 = TS Dump Format (Default)
1 = DVR-MS

SmoothFonts
0 = None (Default)
1 = Smoothed

Enjoy!

I've also been experimenting with my own OSD theme which can be downloaded here:

http://marty.id.au/dvb/theme.zip

Now if only alpha-blending could be done with overlay sad.gif

Is this still only full TS recording?

DigitalWatch has been TS Mux (just the Video and Audio streams) for quite some time...

Oh ok. Last I heard (and that was a while ago, I admit) was that the BDA version was not reliable at recording simple a/v stream mux (corrupt files often resulted) and that only Full TS was trustworthy. Again I admit, I never tried it. I remember Nate saying that the BDA code was a last-minute addition and was not going to be developed further in DW. This is one of the reasons I'm waiting for DWII. If you say you've found it reliable, I should give it a go. The DVR-MS container might make a difference.

EDIT: Oh, hang on. The original post says DVR-MS recording with TH-BDA - not other BDA drivers (DVICO/DNTV). I guess I can only give it a go... smile.gif

I lose non-ac3 sound using the new version sad.gif

Other than that it's pretty good. The font smoothing looks great, and having the NAN back is nice.

What's the capture format setting for just one TS? I had mine set to 1 which is Full TS, but I'd prefer just the one stream that I'm watching. The capture format setting doesn't seem to be documented.

As I mentioned above the CaptureFormat has the following settings in this version:

CaptureFormat
0 = TS Dump Format (Default)
1 = DVR-MS

Remember that this ONLY applies to the TH BDA drivers.
It may well act differently for other drivers.

I have also just noticed in testing that the DVR-MS method only seems to like my Seven and Nine SD channels with anything else (including HD) resulting in a 5k output file.

This should fix any DVR-MS recording problems at the expense of slightly slower channel change times.

It seems the Demux filter doesn't like multiple pins of the same thing, at least not AC3 streams anyway.

Here are the problems I had with 726a:

No sound - all networks, all programs. In case you were going to ask, it should not matter which audio codec I'm using - the ones that worked with nate's version 724 would need to work with ver. 726

Surprisingly, the audio is OK with recordings made with 726.

The EPG keeps flipping back to the EPG data packaged with the "main" program. It momentarily shows the correct EPG for the program it is switched to but then goes almost instantly back to the data for the program listed as 1 in channels.ini

I've gone back to nate's 724, which has perfectly good audio on all programs, with all codecs.

Try 726b loron, it should fix the audio problem (as per my previous post)

As for the EPG problem. I'm working on it.
It is much harder to get the EPG to align to the correct channel in the current setup.

No doubt Nate has DW2 working purely from the TIF information making it easier for everything to match up.

Hi,
Doesn't work for me I'm afraid. It crashes after about 1 second and I get a windows debug window. Interestingly the program seems to work okay in the background but the debug window hides most of it. Once in about 5 crashes I get a Visual C++ window, which I captured, in case it means anything.

Here is a new version:

http://marty.id.au/dvb/DigitalWatch726c.zip

Changes:

- The BDAInput setting no longer has any effect
- Now and Next now relies on the Program Number in the channels.ini for matching.
- Two new settings BDATuner and BDACapture

The settings allow you to specify the names of the two BDA filters for your particular card allowing any BDA DVB-T drivers to be used.

The settings default to the TH DVB-t drivers.

Kudos Martin smile.gif This is something that's been needed for a long time now. Perhaps you could put a zip of the source up too.

I have updated the 726c.zip since it didn't actually work properly with other BDA drivers.

(Still had a reference to the hardcoded filter that I overlooked)

It also now has another feature that will prompt the user for which BDA driver they would like to use if the BDACapture/BDATuner entries are empty in settings.ini.

(Full source will be released shortly)

Could someone please test it with the DVICO BDA Drivers please?

It appears when sound is set to automatic, it fails to render the pin currectly Audio goes to a DVR in -1 "Stream buffer sink", and not out again.

When you select the Audio Decoder the "Stream Buffer Sink" still show has loaded in the graph (GraphEdit) but it is not connected to anything.
