I have just got DW working on my PC (Athlon 64 3000+, Win 2K, Pinnacle 300i DVB-T card) and first off I would like to thank all who have worked on this software because it is the first I have tried that will show me DVB-T programmes in W2K, everything else has needed Win XP to work.
OK, with the congratulations over, some comments... My DigitalWatch.exe file has version 0.7.2.6. I think this is the latest version, but feel free to point me in the direction of any versions that address my points. Firstly, I am in the UK, so the Network/Channel structure doesn't work so well as it appears to in Australia. See this page for a summary of how our channels are split across MUXes. Each channel is identified with a logical channel number, which is what our set top boxes use to sort the channels. I note that ScanChannels shows this number, and so my suggestion is that DW has a mode where this channel number is used for channel odering instead of the network/channel scheme currently in use. Secondly, what format are the recorded files in? What do I need to get a regular mpeg format from them? Thanks all, Richard |

hi Richard,
QUOTE OK, with the congratulations over, some comments... Awe, it felt so good too.QUOTE My DigitalWatch.exe file has version 0.7.2.6. I think this is the latest version, but feel free to point me in the direction of any versions that address my points. It is the latest, nate's site is up and running again see here. The last update to this site was to fix a filter registration issue that was causing the DS filters to not update properly.QUOTE Firstly, I am in the UK, so the Network/Channel structure doesn't work so well as it appears to in Australia. Yes in AU we only have one commercial network per mux as well as the same program content on each sub program on each mux. The gov run networks get as many sub programs on their mux as they like, two if were lucky.QUOTE Each channel is identified with a logical channel number, which is what our set top boxes use to sort the channels. I note that ScanChannels shows this number, and so my suggestion is that DW has a mode where this channel number is used for channel odering instead of the network/channel scheme currently in use. Makes sense, there is a option in the settings menu to extend the network name with the TSID value so it can at least work better, as well as the ordering of each group is by channel number but ordering all the channels globaly is on the agender and I expect would be in the next version release.QUOTE Secondly, what format are the recorded files in? What do I need to get a regular mpeg format from them? ATM you have FullMux(Raw TS data), TSMux(Filtered TS data of the program selected), MpgMux(Mpeg format but you need a third party muxer filter such as mpgmux.ax).

Hi Richard, can you help me I have a Nova-T, it recognises the card but I do not know how to set up the channels. I have a channels.ini for the U.K but this version uses an XML file and it looks totally different Well, I have moved on to Vista now, but I checked my old install, and I also had a channels.ini, without any XML. I have pasted this below, just in case it has any useful info for you. It is nearly a year old now, so some channels may have changed. Sorry I can't help with the new format.
