QUOTE (renura @ Mar 15 2005, 12:20 PM) QUOTE Pardon my ignorance, but which is the SOURCE button on the DVico FusionHDTV remote, and do I press SOURCE then 7 sequentially or press and hold SOURCE and then 7? That is referring to the DNTV Live! remote, for the DVICO is HDTV button. You dodn't have to hold it together, just one after the other. The information is in the manual and/or on your CD Glad it wasn't just me that was confused with that. It's counter-intuitive (in my humble opinion) and not explained well in the manual (which I did read prior to posting by the way). Renura - you were right about the channnels being off-screen. I could ONLY see the list when forcing 1080i. dragged it bag into the middle now so should be sweet. I had already re-installed DNTVLive, but it must remember the settings?? |

Does this new version work with the new Beta 3 FusionHDTV drivers? At the moment, my DNTV Live installation (off the CD) can't detect my FusionHDTV card.

Install the DVICO drivers from your DVICO CD and it will work fine. Else contact support@digitalnow.com.au and they will give you the correct installation files for the DVICO card, you can use the beta3 software as well as DNTV Live! Thanks Renura, I sent an email to support. Will future releases of the DNTV Live software build in support for the latest FusionHDTV drivers (whether Beta or not)? As I understand it, the change in the name of the FusionHDTV drivers are more or less permanent and building in support for them probably won't cause problems in the future (because right now it is not working straight off the bat anyway).
In getting MediaPortal to work with the Beta 2 drivers, I just changed 1 line of text in the capturecarddefinitions.xml file to reflect the current name of the drivers (which I picked up from GraphEdit). So it seems a fairly simple change to build in support? |

It is not a big issue, but if you want to support both those that have the old driver names and the new ones, then you need to define two set of names, which is ludicrous. The majority of our customers are not using the new betas anywayDVICO have gained nothing by changing the names, jut making it a bit of a nuisance for some of us. -------------------- Renura Enterprises Pty Ltd - Owner of DigitalNow and MediaNow- Importers, Distributors and Retailers of Digital TV and other Digital Multimedia Solutions

Hi,
I think that I have always had this problem but I'll put it here for now. I did do a search but couldn't see this any where. My problem is that the mouse cursor remains on screen. I've checked the box to hide the cursor after 5 seconds. What happens is that the mouse will stay on screen then disappear for a second then reappear. I am trying to get things going by just using the Dvico remote and not having to have the mouse connected. At the moment I have to connect the mouse then move it off screen so it can't be seen. I'm using the Logitech MX700, XPSP2, LIVE 1.1.1, I also have a Fusion card installed as well. Does anybody else find this an issue or is it just me? Thanks. By the way the software is comming along nicely. |

Hi,
Even though the mouse will disappear after X seconds it is coded in DNTV Live! to reappear whenever a mouse movement is detected. Unfortunately a mouse movement can occur or be generated by other applications in the background and this will be detected by DNTV Live!. Since mouse movements are system wide it is pretty hard to stop this. If you do not have the mouse plugged in then the above would be the case I think, I find some virus scanners are the worst and others like Kazaa when searching. Exit some of your background apps and only run DNTV Live! and see if you can keep the mouse cursor hidden. You will find the culprit program by doing this! Cheers |

Cheers Hi, Thanks for the advise, from memory I don't have much running on the HTPC, but I do have some AV running. I don't have this problem when using PowerDVD or the Dvico software, which I normally use to record. Not sure what the difference is but I guess these apps detect or hide the mouse in a different manner. Also this does happen with or without the mouse connected. I will have a look at it tonight and see what I can kill. |

[I run exclusively in HTPC mode.] I remember reading Zoom Player's author had to manually move the pointer to an off-screen location (as well as hide it) in order to prevent its re-appearance. Can you not get DNTVL! to do same? |

Sometimes even a small vibration (my subwoofer does that all the time) causes the mouse pointer to reappear Can you not get DNTVL! to do same? This is what I do most of the time, when the mouse is attached. The way I use my set up is to have windows auto logon, and DNTV start straight away in HTPC mode on the last chanel that I was watching. Then I just use the remote to control the software. I don't have the keyboard or mouse connected to the PC at all, so the mouse will normally decide to sit in the middle of the screen. This requires me to attache the mouse and move it from view. If there is an option that says hide mouse, I expect it to remove the mouse completely from view and only bring it back after I move the mouse around the screen. Don't get me wrong I love the way DNTVL works, it's the best software for viewing that I've used and I've tried a few, I really appreciate the PIP and the quality. I just thought I would mention that I have this issue with the mouse pointer not doing what it should. I thought also that it might be happening from vibrations to the mouse but it still happens when there is no mouse connected at all. |

I'd just like to comment on the cursor hiding, as well. I'm using DNTV in my HTPC with a remote control.
I'm not finding that the mouse arrow appears at random, but it comes up whenever, the program changes states, eg during a channel change. So if I don't move the mouse manually after boot up, every time i change the channel the mouse arrow appears. i have it set to hide after 1 second but it doesn't actually go until the on-screen EPG info comes up. This is less than convenient. I agree with Volnhar - if you're going to have a mouse hide option, for something that's supposed to work in an HTPC, there should be an option to hide the mouse all the time. Other than this, though, I'm pretty happy with the software - it's been working pretty well. Eventually, I'd really like to see a more remote friendly EPG and scheduler, and overscan settings for the OSD, but for the moment the mouse issue would seem to be a small but important change that could be made for the next version. Thanks, jakes. |

I have programmed a button into my remote, with uice, to move the mouse pointer off screen. The same could probably be achieved in Girder as well.

I invested in an i-Mon inside remote control. This allows me to control everything from the remote. Start computer, select programs and it has a choice of either keyboard operation or mouse operation. This allows me to move the pesky mouse pointer off the screen so my wife won't complain about the distraction.
Only have to teach her the procedure to turn on plasma, amplifier and HTPC and she might accept it all!! |

it's worse when your mouse is possesed... like mine.. every once in a while, it'll just move on it's own, trawling slowly towards either end of the screen
