Yep, sorry guys, the source that I'm using seems to have changed things and the downloads aren;t working at the moment. I've sent a note to the author of the scraper that i'm using to see if there is a fix, hopefully we get one soon.

I'll see what I can do about getting some guides up and running tomorrow morning

John

Love your work John, thanks heaps for the effort.... I would hate using a (shock, horror) paper telly guide for Melbourne again.

Hey all,

As an alternative to the dwxmltv guides, i've started hosting guides generated from the OzTivo site. I've spoken to Warren (owner of OzTivo), and I do this with his blessing, he's happy for me to do this as it will reduce the load on his website

At the moment (8:30am Sunday EST), I only have the Melbourne guide. Throughout the day (and I have a busy day today so i'm not going to get them all done), I will add more guides, but it takes time because I need to create an account for each region, and then configure it. So, if you want a guide for your region generated, send me an email or PM naming your region, and I will configure your region next, in the order that I receive them. If you want to jump the queue, tell me the names of the channels in your region. That will save me a little time, so i'll do these ones first. If you want to jump straight to the head of the queue, create an oztivo account, configure it for your region, and then send me the username and password for the account. I can add these sorts of requests in seconds.

Anyway, the end result is that with a little help from you guys, i'll have the guides up and running again shortly!

Regards

John

PS. To get to the guides, just use "ozxmltv" instead of "dwxmltv" in the URL. So the URL for the Melbourne guide is:

http://www.jrobbo.com/ozxmltv/xmltvMelbourne.zip

PPS. You will need to change your channel mappings!

OK, quick update, as of 9:30am, guides for ACT, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle and SouthernNSW are up.

I don't really know which channels apply to the different regions, so I've just taken a stab at it. If you need more channels added to the guides, let me know.

Many thanks to those people that have pitched in to give me a hand, it's very much appreciated.

Regards

John

Hi jrobbo, thanks for the effort hosting these guides.

Just a heads up that http://www.jrobbo.com/ozxmltv/xmltvSydney.zip returns QLD guides instead of Sydney guides.

True to his word, he had http://www.jrobbo.com/ozxmltv/xmltvAdelaide.zip up in seconds after I sent the oztivo account details to him. Great work and thanks.

Hey JRobbo,
Thanks for all your hard work it's really appreciated smile.gif
Just one minor quibble for the melbourne guide is that SBS digital 2 (news) doesn't appear to be there in the new feed you get from oztivo... not that I watch it much but some people may... is it available at all?
Once again thanks heaps for everything you're doing smile.gif

Must be your "blind spot", you're missing SBS News (aka SBS 2) from the Brisbane guide as well. biggrin.gif

You've also got '7 Regional' in the Brisbane batch, instead of '7 Brisbane' (aka 7 digital 1), though for all I know this could merely be a cosmetic diference.

What do you need to make a Gold Coast list/guide? Just channel names? Or freqs as well? If you let me know I can probably shoot you what you need. (I'd rather you signed up for the Tivo site though, has to make future changes easier?)

Thanks again, great work on the thing.

Thanks Bazzaa,

i'll fix them now. I'm getting an error whenever I try to register a new region on the oztivo website, so i can't add any new regions at the moment. I'll keep trying, is anybody else having trouble?

Yep, same, I just tried to register one for you...

Error
Registration failed, please try again.

Maybe you blew up the server by making all those new accts? wink.gif

Let me know if you want me to try again later, otherwise I'll assume it's your young but capable hands. I hope you saw the PM?
cheers bigears

I emailed Warren (owner of OzTivo), and he's fixed the problem, so I can get in and register new accounts.

Have now added GoldCoast, Hobart and Perth, they should be up in about 15mins

Ok didn't read the threads properly and now realise you need to swap from dwxmltv to ozxmltv and Perth is ok again. Thanks for all the great work you do on this Robbo. I'm sure you are well aware how much this is appreciated by all. cool.gif

Adelaide is working like a charm.

I didn't even realise there was a problem until earlier today.

The info here and the service you provide is, to say the least, outstanding.

How can I help, or at least put my 10c in?

Do you have a favourite charity?
