Lastest released version is 2.0.8.2 http://www.digitalnow.com.au/DNTVscheduler.html

Upon checking the program files I have DNTViewer.exe (ver: 2.0.6.0) - DNTVSchedulerProTray.exe (ver: 2.0.6.0) - Capture.exe (ver 2.0.8.2).

Just checked to see what I had downloaded and installed previously and it was version 2.0.8.2!

I have just downloaded the program again from the link you have provided and will do a new installation and remove any mention of DNTV Scheduler Pro from the registry before installing the program.

Thanks Renura.

I have just installed the latest version of DNTV Scheduler Pro (ver: 2.0.6.0) and I am getting an error in 'Scheduled recordings' if I attempt to watch live TV in either DNTV Live! or DVBViewer whilst DNTV Scheduler is running in the background.

The error is shown as:-

DNTV SCHEDULER PRO ERROR

Stream Data has stopped flowing or has not started to flow in the filtergraph,
will restart. app exit code: -7

I can record progs fine providing I do not attemp to use DNTV Live! or DVBViewer whilst DNTV Scheduler Pro is running.

This is the first time I have ever come across this problem and I have been using various versions of DNTV Scheduler Pro for some years.

When installing the latest version I did make the error of installing it over an existing version something I never usually do, although I did uninstall it and install again, I am wondering if doing this
has corrupted the registry entries for the program as when I check the 'Capabilities log' I see the following:-

CAPABILITY LOG

I am wondering if it would be better to delete the existing registry entry for DNTV Scheduler Pro and do a new install of the program.
The only registry entries for DNTV Scheduler Pro is shown under:-

My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DNTVSchedulePro

Includes additional folders:

DNSMSinkFilter

DNTVSchedulerProTray

FIleWriter

Are there any other registry entries for DNTV Scheduler Pro?

My existing set-up is:-

Windows XP Pro SP3
2 - TinyTwin USB tuners (driver ver: 9.603.1.909)
DNTV Live! (ver: 1.3.8.2)
DNTV Scheduler Pro (ver: 2.0.6.0)

When using DNTV Live! I can enable its recording schedule to record using a number of tuners and also watch live TV without any problems.

Is the device also compatible with standard DAB as used here in the UK?

I am wondering if it is based on the following chip:-

"Realtek Semiconductor have collaborated to create a multi-standard DVB-T, DAB/DAB+ and FM TV and Radio reference design".

This a Taiwanese company and I remember you mentioning in another thread that some of your products are Taiwanese sourced.

I was going to start a new thread but someone beat me to it.

Version 1.3.6.1 (Updated 14-12-2009)

1. Added channel change boost mode to speed up channel changes, also added an option to enable/disable from the TV Settings page in Configeration.
Also fixed a exception error that only appeared on XP O.S.

Thanks Bear, the latest version (DNTVLive!) 1.3.6.1 has sorted out all channel change problems that I had experienced with earlier versions.

It had been taking up to 10 seconds to change channels and would often get the message that "DNTVLive! has stopped responding", changing channels with the latest version is almost instantaneous.

My operating system is Windows XP Pro SP3 so perhaps this was adding to the problems!

Also updated DNTV Scheduler Pro to latest version.

As far as I know there are no plans to use DVB-T2 in Australia, so we have not looked at what DVB-T2 involves.

Thanks for that info Renura, I hate to think that I'll have to stop using DNTVLive! software in order to use a DVB-T2 tuner!

I am based in the UK (North West of England) and our regional TV company Granada has ceased analogue TV transmissions so that we are now purely digital.

Early next year there will be Freeview HDTV transmissions from our main transmitter Winter Hill and reading various UK forums it would appear that in order to receive these transmissions I will require a DVB-T2 tuner, will 'DigitalNow' be stocking these tuners when they become available?

My existing DigitalNow TinyTwin tuners are working fine and since having a new aerial fitted and aligned to Winter Hill instead of the nearby Storeton transmitter I now have both signal and quality settings showing 100%.

When I get everything working fine I will ghost the C drive and keep the image on an external USB drive. I'm sure there are better programs but this has always worked well for me.

I find that with HDD so cheap nowadays, I just leave the C drive to run the OS and apps and store all data to a USB drive. It makes rebuilding the PC easier because your C drive can be relatively small. I am looking forward to when solid state drives become more affordable because these dont have to be very big to run the OS and the machine should run faster??

Dave

I have seen 'ghost' mentioned elsewhere but had no idea what it was! I have just Googled it and come up with Norton Ghost which appears to be just the sort of program I need.

I am using the 'C' drive for program installations and intend using a newly purchased Samsung 1TB 'Story' USB hard drive for recording TV programmes and also data.

Rebuilt windows and installed DNTV and Webscheduler at SP2 all worked fine. Installed SP3 all worked fine. Not sure if the issue is installing apps after SP3.

Dave

A week ago my operating system went haywire! Windows XP Pro SP3.

My nephew did a reformat and reloaded Windows XP Pro followed by all Windows updates!

I installed DNTVLive! after all the Windows updates which included SP3 had finished installing, it works OK with the exception that it is slow when changing channels and on odd occasions a box appears stating that "DNTVLive! has stopped responding" although the program is still running fine!

I have now added a 1TB external drive (USB) to my system and I am looking for a program that will allow me to create a 'mirror image' of my hard drive so that I do not have to reinstall XP Pro SP3 and all Windows updates anew if I have OS problems in the future, any ideas?

Just an update. A number of people here in the UK are experiencing problems after the re-tune with their DVB-T devices, they no longer function correctly! Also other people report loss of the EPG.

Luckily my TinyTwin tuners are working fine.

In order to get their DVB-T tuners working again a number of people have found that using the latest "psisdecd.dll" file from the SP3 service pack does the trick.

The SP3 "psisdecd.dll" is version: 6.5.2600.5512.

It is believed that a change to the way the DVB-T signal was being broadcast causes an older version of a directshow component to
fail (specifically, the "Psisdecd.dll").

The following description from the KB986626 article describes the problem:

"This problem occurs if a table section in the Program Specific
Information (PSI) table that is embedded in the digital TV signal
stream exceeds 255 bytes. In this scenario, the Psisdecd.dll
DirectShow component does not process the PSI table correctly."

I hope I survive the next two re-tune days!

The UK Freeview service are making improvements which means millions of Freeview TV sets, digital set-top boxes and DVB-T tuners need to be re-tuned after noon today.

I have just completed re-tuning my TinyTwins and setting-up my favourites once again, also acquired some new channels.

Over the course of the next few months I will have to do at least two further re-tunes as we go purely digital.

In a future release of DNTV Scheduler Pro under "Device Selection" would it be possible to incorporate a number next to the listed filters?

At present my list for my two TinyTwin tuners looks like this:-

Currently Selected DVB-T Devices
AF9015 BDA Filter
AF9015 BDA Filter
AF9015 BDA Filter
AF9015 BDA Filter

I like to drop 'Tuner 1' to the bottom of the list as I like to keep 'Tuner 1' purely for the use of DNTVLive!

If there was an identification number next to each of the filters it would make the task of altering the order of the filters a lot easier.

Thanks for replying Renura, I came late in life to computers and I personally have no idea in writing code!

TinyUSBMonitor is just a gem of a program but I can well understand that there are limited resources for this kind of thing, I am just grateful for the improvements that are made to DNTVLive! and DNTV Scheduler Pro.

Since upgrading my tuners from a TinyUSB2.0 and Twinhan Alpha USB2.0 I sorely miss the ability to use the "TinyUSBMonitor" as an aid to trouble-shooting reception problems.

Is there any chance of a version of the TinyUSBMonitor that could be used with the TinyTwin, I would even be willing to pay for it!

As I continue to be plagued with reception problems (nothing to do with my tuners) as work continues to upgrade UK transmitters for a 'digital switchover' I could certainly do with a TinyTwin version of TinyUSBMonitor.

At the moment I am resorting to checking Signal Strength and Signal Quality using the Control Panel facility within DNTVLive! which checks individual channels.

And DigitalTV also accesses the tuners about 5 times faster. Also if you do open both tuners in DigitalTV you can double click the second window and the pictures swap INSTANTLY...with no blue light flickering. If you do the same in DNTV Live! it seems to turn off the tuners one at a time...swap channel info...then start them back up then show tuner one followed a second or so later by tuner two...this whole process takes around 4 seconds, whereas the other is instant.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled galore, but I haven't tried NOT installing DigitalTV. Will do soon, big work day tomorrow so will most likely be Friday night.

As for a restore point before I installed DigitalTV...thats nearly a year ago! Not going back that far thanks. This problem just materialised a few weeks ago. Yet again tonight I had to delete 73 0 byte files of 2 1/2 Men... *sniff* missed that one!

I am not experiencing your problem of being unable to use DNTVLive! until you have used DigitalTV to 'kickstart' your tuners although I do have a delay between selecting HDTV from the menu and 'image and sound' appearing on-screen and also when changing channels.

(Perhaps I should also mention that like yourself I am also using XP Pro SP3 but have no wish to revert back to SP2!)

Selecting HDTV from Menu takes in the region of 9-seconds.

Changing from one channel to another takes 9-seconds and on the odd occasion even longer (sometimes a Window's box will pop-up stating:- "DNTVLive is not responding" - although at this point the program is still functioning).

By comparison DVBViewer and MyTheatre both change channels in 1-2 seconds.

My glitch with slow channel swopping might be due in part to existing transmitter reception problems that I am experiencing at the moment.

I have updated to the latest 1.3.4RC version of DNTVLive! and channel changing times are still the same at 9-seconds.

It is interesting to note that when using MyTheatre it runs through a procedure of "initializing card" prior to 'image and sound' appearing on-screen, maybe you are right when you suggest these programs are doing something slightly different to DNTVLive! when first recognising the tuners.

Although when I mention DVBViewer and MyTheatre these programs are not used nearly as often at DNTVLive! which is in daily use, they are handy for comparison, for example when trying to determine signal quality the display in DVBViewer acts immediately and by comparison the signal display in DNTVLive! is sluggish and is at times not quick enough to register any drop in signal quality although the on-screen image reacts.

Just a follow-up to my post yesterday.

My problem with the TinyTwin tuner continued today when this morning DNTV Scheduler Pro was unable to carry out its scheduled 8am EPG scan.

DNTVLive! and none of my other TV software could display an image or sound (although the TinyTwin tuners were listed in the hardware settings of all my TV software programs), I even went as far as reinstalling the TinyTwin tuner driver still nothing.

Then decided to check the signal levels in DNTVLive! using the 'Control Panel' and it was displaying Signal Strength - zero and Signal Quality - zero, it was at this stage that I had a brainwave (the only one in days of fiddling with my TinyTwin tuners!) and decided to go online to 'Digital UK' to see whether any work was being done on the transmitter that serves my area.

Apart from the fact that in the last few days at least four out of the six muxes I use had been operating on reduced power and since the early hours of today (Wednesday) all muxes were "Liable to interruption" no wonder I was having problems with stuttering and freezing images.

So I am delighted to know that my two TinyTwin tuners will work together faultlessly when they are plugged directly into the computers USB2.0 ports as Renura mentioned they should.

Through my own stupidity I have spent days messing about plugging either of my two powered USB 2.0 hubs complete with TinyTwin tuners into numerous different USB 2.0 ports on my computer in order to get them to try and co-exist (I have ten of these ports and it took ages doing the testing - also removing the tuners from 'Device Manager' numerous times and reinstalling the driver) in the end it was as Renura suggested a hardware conflict with the two powered USB hubs. These have been junked for the time being until I can find out why the conflict occurs.

In future when I need to install new tuners and drivers the first thing that I will be checking is the Digital UK web site for transmitter information!

I miss not being able to use the Tiny Monitor utility with the TinyTwin it was an excellent little program for trouble shooting reception problems.

At least I am now happy that I know what was the cause of my problems.

I am not 100% sure that I understand what you are doing - but my question is have you tried the two tuners each in a separate USB2 port without any powered hubs?

I doubt the installed applications have any impact on this - I'd say it is a hardware conflict of sorts.

You might also read this http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtrouble_e.html

Hi Renura, I followed your advice and ditched the two powered hubs and plugged the two TinyTwins directly into my computer USB ports, the first TinyTwin found its driver and the second TinyTwin was detected as new hardware and the Hardware wizard commenced, chose to select where the driver was (on the DNTVLive! CD) and it loaded without problems.

So all my TV programs can now see the four tuners, the only downside is that the images are now freezing and stuttering.

What does not help is that my local transmitter is running on low power on a number of its muxes adding to my problems. In my area they are going totally digital and ceasing analogue transmissions in November so transmitter engineering work is ongoing.

What has been proved so far is that the two powered USB hubs that I use are causing the problem with tuners not being detected and failure of drivers to load.

What I have decided for the time being is to run just the one TinyTwin on a powered USB hub as this gives me a good signal and an excellent picture and creates no problem with the driver only the addition of a second powered USB hub does that! (They are both 7-port identical Kensington hubs).

Once we go totally digital (they are also increasing transmitting power) will look again at incorporating the second TinyTwin into my system.

In the meantime will check the web site you mentioned, also found some interesting information on a Microsoft site relating to Code 42.

Thanks for your help.

have you tried plugging in into a different USB2 port?

I have just tried plugging into a number of different USB2 ports with the same results.

My Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9 motherboard has the normal 4-USB ports plus F_USB1 / F_USB2 / F_USB3 (Front USB Connector) the F_USB types
are basically additional USB ports on a plate which connect to their own socket on the motherboard.

So far have plugged the second TinyTwin into a socket on the normal 4-USB ports, F_USB1 port, F_USB2 port and the F-USB3 port, in each instance the following is detected:

1) Found new hardware - Generic USB hub

2) Found new hardware - DVB-T 2

3) USB Composite device

It then 'Bluescreens' with the message mentioned in my first post.

I can only have one of the TinyTwin tuners running at one time, if I unplug the first tuner from its powered hub and then plug the second tuner into its powered hub that tuner will work fine.

One thing I have not mentioned is that I am trying to install my newly acquired TinyTwin and its driver whilst I have the following software still installed on the computer:-

DNTVLive!
DNTV Scheduler Pro
DVBViewer
MyTheatre

Whether the installation of a driver can be affected by having the TV viewing software already installed I have no idea.

I have been using a TinyTwin and also a Twinhan Alpha USB2.0 tuner without any problems, each tuner is connected to its own powered USB hub.

The Twinhan USB2.0 device has been removed from my system and I am trying to install a second TinyTwin so far without success.

The first TinyTwin is installed without any problem but when booting up my system with the intention of installing a driver for the second TinyTwin it stops the first TinyTwin from loading.

The second TinyTwin is not even detected as the led that shows it is connected to the powered hub extinguishes before Windows loads!

When I check Windows device manager it shows the first TinyTwin now described as a 'USB Composite Device' with a yellow exclamation mark next to it,
and properties information states:-

DEVICE STATUS

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware as there is a duplicate device already running in the system. [Code 42]

If I unplug the second TinyTwin from its powered USB hub and reboot the system the first TinyTwin device is detected correctly and the device can be used
in DNTVLive! and other similar programs.

Whilst the first TinyTwin is working ok I have then plugged the second TinyTwin into its own powered hub, Windows briefly recognises it as new hardware 'USB Composite Device' followed by a 'Bluescreen'

Part of the 'Bluescreen' message states:-

"Plug and Play detected an error most likely caused by a faulty driver"

Technical Info

*** STOP: 0x000000CA (0x00000001, 0x85F0BA38, 0x8679E030, 0x00000000)

The software and driver are the ones off the supplied CD, DNTVLive! (ver 1.3.3.0) and TinyTwin driver (8.6.24.1).

At the moment I am just using the one TinyTwin device with DNTVLive!, DNTV Scheduler Pro, DVBViewer and MyTheatre and it works fine.

Anyone have any suggestions that I might try in order to get the second TinyTwin device up and running?

Easiest way is to edit the daily recurring EPGScan schedules to start occuring at 0800hrs rather than 0000hrs. Then set the auto epg update time at the bottom of the the setup's EPG Source Settings page to a time after the last scan schedule has been completed.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction bear, I have been puzzling over where the setting was for changing the EPG scan start time.

I have now set it to start at 8am.

At the moment I'm just running a manual update for today and have checked the Main epg page for Friday and it is marked up for an 8am EPG scan.

I would like to alter the default 'Auto' epg scan time' which is presently set at 12am to the later time of 8am but am unsure how to do this, can anyone tell where to find the setting which will allow me to do this?

There is a file called 'server prop (PROP file)' with an entry listed as "sch.autodel.time=12" which might relate to the Auto epg scan time but could be wrong!

Bear I have increased the memory allocation for scheduler in the "Wrapper.conf" file by modifying the "wrapper.java.maxmemory=128" entry as you suggested.

I have just completed an 'Update' EPG scan and it worked fine giving the full 7-day EPG info for all 32 channels.

So you have cured the EPG problem that I've been experiencing for which I am very grateful.

Will have to review the number of channels, I can remove at least five of them which are news related tv channels, I have no idea what the normal number of
"TV channels with programs to watch" is in Australia but I gather mine are excessive and I have not included any TV music stations! rolleyes.gif

The only other thing to do is alter the time of the daily EPG scan from midnight to something like a 10.45pm start.

At least through these posting I am gaining a better understanding of DNTV Scheduler Pro.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi Bear, I have sent the files that you requested in zip format to Renura.

All files relate to an EPG scan completed on Sunday afternoon, I also included two jpgs which show the partial channel mapping, 13 channels have EPG information and the other 19 channels have no EPG data.

After completing this particular EPG scan I shutdown my computer, when I returned to it some hours later and restarted it and checked the EPG page it was displaying the full 7-day EPG information, also the Now and Next page was displaying the correct information for all channels.

Some hours ago (it is now 0344 hours) the auto midnight EPG scan completed and on checking the EPG page once again it was only showing a limited number of channels with EPG information.

I had the idea of using the 'tray icon menu' (Options/Service/Restart) to see if this would induce the program to display the full 7-day EPG information and it did!

Will have to wait for the next auto midnight EPG scan and if I encounter the same problem will carry out the same menu routine to see if it brings up the full 7-day EPG display.

Hi bear will sort out the files you have requested, will remove the existing xmlepg file and do a new EPG scan so that you can see a 'clean' file not one
that is a mixture of DNTVLive! and DNTV Scheduler Pro EPGs.

Also I have just rembered that some years ago I was a beta tester for a program that was being developed by an Australian guy that used to frequent
the Software/Third Party DVB-T Software forum and when he enabled an EPG in his program I had all sorts of problems, in the end I sent him a DVD consisting
of a 15-minute TS recording and he sorted the problem.

I did the same thing when DNTVLive! incorporated EPG as it would not work for me in the UK sent a 15-minute TS recording and problem sorted.

There must be something peculiar about the EPG info here in the UK!

Just a follow-up to my previous posting. Installed DNTV Scheduler Pro V2.0.5 beta 12 this morning and really like the 'enhanced notification tray icon menu '.

This has made an excellent program even better!

I had one glitch whilst scanning for channels it scanned five muxes ok although on one mux it would not create the proper channel names, instead it displayed
EPG Id figures, did a rescan and the proper channel list came up.

Because of this slight glitch decided not to do an EPG scan at this stage and opted to copy the 'xmlepg' file from DNTVLive! and paste it into the data/xmlepg folder in
DNTV Scheduler Pro this worked fine, all channels were mapped automatically and I had a full 7-day EPG listing.

Later I decided to do an 'Update' from the EPG main window assuming that this would replace the existing xmlepg file in data/xmlepg, instead it just appeared to amend it
increasing its original size from 6,525Kb to 9.10Mb! Also when the EPG schedule completed it trashed my 7-day EPG listings, in channel mapping it showed nearly all
channels as having no EPG data.

When checking the Scheduler for the EPG scans it shows that to scan 6-muxes has taken in the region of 1hr-6mins and it scanned the following:-

BBC One (freq: 546000 KHz)
BBC Four (freq: 514000 KHz)
ITV 1 (freq: 578000 KHz)
ITV 2+1 (freq: 570000 KHz)
CITV (freq: 490000 KHz)
E4+1 (freq: 538000 KHz)

At the moment I have reverted to relying on the xmlepg file from DNTVLive!

In addition in the Channel list despite setting the Country info to United Kingdom for each channel it always reverts back to Afghanistan!

If you are interested bear I have screen shots taken from DNTV Scheduler Pro showing errors in channel mapping etc.
