one of the tuners not working even though win10/TVSP thinks they are, need a but of help Options

Hello. Help !

I have a PC with 2x digitalnow 7164 twin-tuner PCIE cards in it, making 4 tuners total. It has been VERY handy.

Until a few weeks ago, scheduled TVSP recordings successfully used all 4 tuners to record from up to 4 TV channels at a time.

Now, it only records from 2 tuners, even though TVSP shows the tuners as OK in the Device Selection window.

Can anyone tell me how to debug, i.e. what to do next to find out what's going wrong and fix it ?

Hi frednerk33,

The error 0x8007001f is a general failure to start error.

MSDN suggest "May be used to indicate that the device has stopped responding (hung) or a general failure has occurred on the device.
The device may need to be manually reset."

Try a power down of the PC by removing the mains power cable for a few minutes. Some MS Win7 device driver updates can cause other devices to remain
hung-up even after a shut down or reset.

It is also possible that the drivers have been recently updated and my need to be reverted back. Suggest a reload of the device drivers.

Another cause is that the device is reserved by another media application preventing it from running.

Thanks. Tried swapping the 2 boards in their PCIe slots and that worked - rebooted and they came alive again.

One of the two reseated 7164's stopped working.

I removed one of the 7164's and installed a Hauppauge WinTV Quad tuner in its place ... and now I have 6 tuners used by TV Scheduler Pro.

It worked, I test recorded a number of channels concurrently.

I guess we should not be surprised to see our older capture devices passing away. Electrolytic capacitors usually die after ten years, sooner if you live in the tropics.

Wow, Six recordings at the same time! I was not aware there was that many shopping channels.
