Hi Guys,

For those interested, this is to let you know that version 1.1.1 of DNTV Live! has now been released.

Existing users may download the update from here

You need not unistall the previous version, simply run setup and re-boot as requested.

A trial version is also available from the above page

This version:

1. Fixed a problem with quick record that didn't terminate these timers correctly when user manually stopped recording before quick record interval had expired.
2. Fixed a minor bug in the auto pid update function that would automatically reselect AC3 audio as default regardless of what the user had chosen previously.
3. Added an option for increased errror correction and prevention. Only enable this if you suffer from signal deterioration from bad reception or hardware / software conflicts. Those with any stutter issues after long live viewing sessions may want to enable this option.

Feedback, as usual, here or directly very much appreciated.

Cheers

Hello

Good to see the AC3 default problem fixed. I like to use MP2 sound for most programs as I can control the SPDIF out (and all other functions) via the oneHTPC iMon remote instead of having to use also the external amplifier remote for the volume. I am assuming that MP2 SPDIF travels via WAV, thus making it possible to use the HTPC remote. This is not the case for AC3.

I still have a continuing problem when changing channels using presets. When pressing the preset for ABC, I get the ABC Guide instead of the SD ABC Brisbane. I'm assuming that this occurs because the ABC is the only TS in Brisbane where the Guide is the first channel (lowest frequency) and the preset defaults to this. Does a checkbox need to be added to the HDTV editor to indicate an SD channel?

Hi cdd, welcome to the forum.

Then details on the presets are in chapter 7 of the manual. If you dond't have more than 10 channel to use (0-9) you don't have to use the prest key, just allocate the numbers to the channel you wnat and when you press that number you shoudl get directly to that channel.

If you want to allocate numbers to more than 10 channels then you can preset using "source" for HDTV and EPG for EPG channels. so for example if you assign the number 7 to channels 7, pressing "source" + "7" gives channels 7HDTV, whereas "7" gives you channel; 7SDTV, etc

You need to indicate whether a channel is HDTV or EPG by ticking the relevant box in the channel editor, if no box is ticked the channel is assumed to be SDTV.

Cheers

Renura

Thanks for your welcome.

Thanks also for your ongoing advice to this forum. On this occasion, however, I am aware of the issues and had carried out all instructions according to Chapter 7. As I don't have enough unallocated buttons left on my iMon remote, I have needed to use the 'source' hot keys for HDTV and EPG.

This works fine for all channels except the ABC. With this channel the following happens:
- press 'HDTV hotkey + 1' (my allocated number for ABC), the ABC HDTV is tuned
- press 'EPG Hotkey +1', the ABC Guide channel is tuned
- press '1', the ABC Guide is tuned, NOT ABC Brisbane which was the SD channel that was allocated the '1' number (with unchecked HDTV and EPG boxes).
In other words, in my case, the "if no box is ticked the channel is assumed to be SDTV" statement does not apply.

Interestingly, when ABC HDTV was the first channel in the ABC TS, ABC HDTV used to tune when I pressed '1' . Now that the ABC Guide is the first channel in the ABC TS, it is the ABC Guide that tunes when I press '1', despite having allocated '1' (with unchecked HDTV and EPG boxes) to the SD ABC Brisbane.

The same problem occurs when I use the key board and not the remote.

Please note that this problem only occurs when the HDTV and EPG hotkeys are in the equation. If I allocate a unique number only to each channel, there is not a problem.

I hope that this makes sense.

Dear Renura

Judging from the small number of posts to this thread, it would appear that DNTV Live is becoming quite a stable piece of software, however, I am continuing to experience a minor glitch with timeshifting. I'm not sure whether this problem is already known but here it is:

Assuming that I am viewing live TV through Tuner 1 and I have timeshift mode turned off (i.e unchecked in the HDTV settings and curently unticked in the right click menu:
- if I then press 'pause', the screen freezes and the timeshift commences. No problems here. Everything works fine.
- if I am concurrently running a scheduled recording on either tuner 2 or 3 (or both), when I press 'pause' to commence timeshifting using Tuner 1, I get the following message: "Access violation at address 005A9F68 in module DNTVLive.exe Read of address 00000000." BUT, if I then manually turn on the timeshift mode via the rightclick menu and then press 'pause', the timeshift using Tuner 1 works fine.

I'm wondering whether something can be done about being able to turn on the timeshift via 'pause' only, regardless of whether scheduled recordings are running using other tuners. Intuitively it makes sense and, indeed, I only discovered the manual right click fix by accident. And those access violations are not good for any software!

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I will check this out but seems DNTV Live! may be trying to access something that it can't in this particular situation. With multiple tuners there are so many scenarios, thus we are slowly eliminating any possible holes that can cause this type of error.

Actually I just tried to test this and cannot replicate it, you may need to try and replicate it yourself and be more specific when reporting the steps you took to get this error if possible.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

There has been a minor bug fix in relation to the use of the EPG hotkey. If you are using that feature you may want to re-download version 1.1.1 which now (1:00 pm AEST) contains the fix. Just install it over you old one.

Cheers

Dear Renura

I've installed 1.1.1 with the EPG hotkey fix. All channel changing with preset numbers and hotkeys + preset numbers now work fine.

Thanks, Cdd

Dear DNTV Live!

Thanks so much for looking into this problem so quickly.

Regarding replication, the problem always occurs when I use the 'pause' while schedule recording using other tuners. But I'll get back to you if I have any more light and details to shed on this timeshift switching problem I am experiencing.

I have a consistent problem with action replay, where playback will freeze soon after reaching the initial point in the timeline where action replay was initiated.

I can hit action replay again, and playback will restart, and then eventually freeze again.

I don't have these problems when I use timeshifting. I paused for almost 10 minutes last night (had to put the bin out). I was able to resume playback, and FW/RW around the ad-breaks without any problem at all.

9800Pro with Catalyst v5.2.

Had this problem at DNTV Live! v1.0.9 & v1.1.0 also.

Dear Renura

I have a small problem with the cursor when fast forwarding:

When I start Live TV, a recorded file or a DVD, the cursive disappears after approximately the correct number of seconds (I have it set at 5 secs).

BUT, if I press the fast forward button or hotkey while watching any of these three modes (including live TV which of course doesn't fast forward anything), the cursor reappears and will not disappear UNTIL I've pressed the Play button or hotkey (I discovered this fact by accident). In this instance the cursor usually takes twice as long to disapppear as normal.

Should it be necessary to press the play button after fastforwarding to get rid of the cursor, because it is not necessary to press the play button to have the program continue after fastforwarding?

I have tested this with FF set at both 5 and 30 secs, and entering from the main menu via both HDTV and DVD.

I seem to have an issue with configuring the presets. Within HDTV channel settings, I added numbers - eg 7HD - 7, 9HD - 9, 10HD -0 etc.

for some reason only 7 works! I think 7 was the first one I set. Basically I can up or down channel to wherever I like, and hit 7 on the remote and channel 7 comes up. but the other channels don't - it just beeps to confirm receipt of the infra-red beam. I tried directly with a keboard too, same story.

Also, for some reason the channel list no longer appears - ie, right click to get the context menu and at the top there's 'channels....', selecting that seems to do nothing. - it was working yesterday and nothing's changed to my knowledge

cheers

Please read chapter 7 of the manual.

If the channel list disappeared, you could have inadvertently dragged out of the screen? look for it, else re-install DNTV Live!

Pardon my ignorance, but which is the SOURCE button on the DVico FusionHDTV remote, and do I press SOURCE then 7 sequentially or press and hold SOURCE and then 7?

That is referring to the DNTV Live! remote, for the DVICO is HDTV button. You dodn't have to hold it together, just one after the other.

The information is in the manual and/or on your CD smile.gif

I did refer to the information in Chapter 7. An image of the relevant remote with an index of what all the buttons are would be an invaluable addition to this section IMO.

When I press the HDTV (red) button the DNTV Live! menu appears. Pressing it again toggles me back to the DNTV Live! screen with whatever channel was there before I pressed it the first time. So I'm still confused. unsure.gif
