Card: DNTV Live! DVB-T

Hi,

I had to move my DNTV Live! card (old I know) & TechniSat to another PC on account of the video card dying.
I had this PC up and running under XP with all the cards working. I decided to go to Win7

So a fresh win 7 x32 build, SP1 and nothing else.

I downloaded the latest drivers for the cards and installed them - everything appears to be ok there.
I downloaded the latest DNTV Live! software and did the install (Right click run as administrator).
I downloaded the latest DNTV Scheduler Pro and did the install (Right click run as administrator).

And that's where the fun begins.

Prob 1: DNTV Live software works - except on HD channels where it tells me "Failed to Create Tuner 1 Video Decoder". I have tried different decoders, nothing seems to fix it, it just makes it worse.

Prob 2: DNTV Scheduler Pro will not see the card
in DeviceScan-...log I see the card is there, but these errors to start off with below and quite a few more:

2017/09/28 13:24:21.064 - BDAHelper : LoadFilter(): DNTV Live! BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod Tuner 1
2017/09/28 13:24:21.064 - BDAHelper : Cannot load tuner device and connect network provider
2017/09/28 13:24:21.064 - BDADVBCTuner : Cannot load DVB-C Source
2017/09/28 13:24:21.064 - GraphManager : Cannot load Source Device
2017/09/28 13:24:21.064 - BuildGraph failed while detecting device (0) as type(0) with : 0xffffffff

2017/09/28 13:24:21.096 - BDAHelper : LoadFilter(): DNTV Live! Transport Stream Capture Tuner 1
2017/09/28 13:24:21.097 - BDAHelper : Cannot load capture device and connect tuner
2017/09/28 13:24:21.097 - BDADVBTuner : Cannot load DVB-T Source
2017/09/28 13:24:21.097 - GraphManager : Cannot load Source Device
2017/09/28 13:24:21.097 - BuildGraph failed while detecting device (0) as type(1) with : 0xffffffff

and so on until:
2017/09/28 13:24:21.177 - Scan was unable to identify this device and found it to be un-usable.

So I am trying to just get the DNTV card working first. It is the only card in the machine. All the drivers appear to have loaded ok.

I tested also with DVB Web Scheduler Pro and that DOES recognise the card. So I am lost.

Any assistance would be appreciated smile.gif

Hi gtkp,

Prob 1: This likely so, as all the HD channels from the AU broadcasters have since changed from MPEG2 to H264 video format. The version of DNTVLive you
are likely using is fixed to the Azure H264 Video Decoder that is supplied with the DigitalTV application on the CD supplied with the card.
We are currently looking at using the MS Video decoder to get around the issue.

Prob 2: Not sure why this is occurring, have a look in scheduler's log directory for the device log text file to see the error detail. You may need to
activate DNTVLive with your user key and re-install scheduler pro again to have the card identified.

In case you need it, here is a link to DigitalTV. I use DigitalTV with my win 8.1 setup to get everything working properly. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3x4cEC0dQ...iew?usp=sharing

Thanks to you both.

1- no biggy, just thought it was odd. Understand the explanation. I can wait. Sure it was working in the XP version I had. So is is a codec they removed from Win 7 that still existed in XP?

2. I have attached the device scan log file. It appears to know it is there, just doesn't want to allow it to be added.

Got to be honest - I do not think I can find my Original CD. I did take a copy of it though which is sitting in the build folder on D:\ of my HTPC.
I have also tried using those files and didn't achieve anything. Didn't think I needed a user key if I had an actual DNTV product.

I would like to get the card working with Dntv Sched Pro, so I have attached the log file.

In the meantime, I also have an old tiny twin. That seels to work ok without and issue - but 1. the HD content, so I will try Digital TV. Thanks for the link.

Cheers!

The TinyTwin does not require the registration details (username and password) to be entered in DNTV LIVE for DNTV Scheduler Pro to work, all other tuners do.

The installation of DigitalTV provides the necessary codecs for HD to work.

BTW no logs were attached to your reply

The log file indicates that it tested the twin DVBT device as type 1 (DVB-T) ok.
CODE
2017/10/02 19:51:26.842 - BuildGraph SUCCEEDED in checking this device (1:AF9015 BDA Filter\\?\usb#vid_1b80&pid_e402#5&3985650a&0&3#{71985f48-1ca1-11d3-9cc8-00c04f7971e0}\{9b365890-165f-11d0-a195-0020afd156e4}) as type(1) ok 2017/10/02 19:51:26.842 -
SUCCEEDED ====================================================================
&
2017/10/02 19:51:30.102 - BuildGraph SUCCEEDED in checking this device (2:AF9015 BDA Filter\\?\usb#vid_1b80&pid_e402#5&3985650a&0&3#{71985f48-1ca1-11d3-9cc8-00c04f7971e0}\{9b365890-165f-11d0-a195-0020afd156e5}) as type(1) ok 2017/10/02 19:51:30.102 -
SUCCEEDED ====================================================================

So you should have at least the two DVBT devices shown on the devices page after the rescan.

The TechniSat test failed while trying to add/connect the capture device of the BDA driver.
CODE
2017/10/02 19:51:23.347 - BDAHelper : Loading Capture Filter
2017/10/02 19:51:23.347 - BDAHelper : LoadFilter(): DNTV Live! Transport Stream Capture Tuner 1
2017/10/02 19:51:23.378 - BDAHelper : Cannot load capture device and connect tuner

As it worked ok under WinXP, this could be a result of a Win7 permissions issue. Try installing the device driver again under "Run as Admin" if an exe installer or reinstall scheduler again without the
"Run as Admin" to see if the device can tested ok.
