Is it possible that you are running it on an x64 system. If so I think that digitalnow say that there are issues running th twin usb tuners on that architecture.

You could try connecting the devices one at a time and restarting between times.

You could also look at the device manager and see if the devices are working ok.

Sure. It is 2 pass encoding. Watch out for this code though. It is a batch file that Expects a log file as the 1st parameter and the actual file to process as the second parameter.

Let me know if you need help understanding what is going on and I'll simplify it for you.

As for your speed problem, have you thought of using the post capture tasks to run your compression routines so that it all happen automatically in TV Scheduler pro. That way you don't have to manually choose to compress files and wait for them to finish.

Paul

CODE
"C:\Program Files\ffmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe" -i %2 -vtag DIVX -f avi -vcodec mpeg4 -aspect 16:9 -s 720x405 -b:v 1000000 -acodec mp3 -ab 128000 -ar 48000 -ac 2 -pass 1 "%~dp2zztemp%~n2.avi"

"C:\Program Files\ffmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe" -i %2 -vtag DIVX -f avi -vcodec mpeg4 -aspect 16:9 -s 720x405 -b:v 1000000 -acodec mp3 -ab 128000 -ar 48000 -ac 2 -pass 2 "%~dpn2.avi"

del "%~dp2zztemp%~n2.avi"

echo %~dpn2.avi>>%1

The TS data is the data as streamed.

If you are going to convert the data to another format to reduce the size then there will be quality loss. If you cannot make any quality concessions then you won't want to compress at all. You might have to buy a large HDD.

I personally compress using ffmpeg for compressions speed and size. It is all configurable on the command line. But I don't want to recommend it to you because I can see slight reduced quality.

reboots.

In fact my problem was slightly different. I don't auto suspend, but My screen sleep would not kick in. It was like the computer thought it was busy all the time so it could not do any of its power saving features.

a couple of restarts later and then it started happening again.

This happened to me. But 2 or three restarts later it was back to normal.

You can specify what channels to ignore in the match list rules.

Also not sure what you mean by this comment "does projectX work by itself to extract the subtitles if youi run it manually?" - how do one extract it manually?

Maybe the best way to do this is to copy the ini file from:
"C:\Program Files\WSMPP\Modules\ExtractSubtitles.ini"
to
"C:\Program Files\ProjectX\X.ini"
Note you will have to rename the "ExtractSubtitles.ini" file to replace the existing "X.ini" file.

Then run the projectX.jar file int he same directory

drag a ts file onto the window (down the bottom).

click on the quickstart button (on the left)

delete the [801] part of the file name form the newly created subtitles file so the file names match like normal.

Then save this file somewhere and compress your video as normal. You will be able to compare the sub files to see if they are different.

QUOTE (hugoti @ Nov 21 2013, 09:44 PM) *
it looks like the Command Post processor is no longer syncing my subtitles with the FTA recorded programs. I had to constantly readjust the timings especially after I fast forward the ads. I suspect the Windows updates may have screwed something on it. This excellent software has served me well but I suspect it's beginning to reach end of its life.

Has anyone come across any alternative software that will happily extract subtitles/teletext from FTA programs recorded by webscheduler?

I am surprised that ProjectX isn't syncing your subtitles correctly. Is the quality of your digital reception really bad? does projectX work by itself to extract the subtitles if youi run it manually?

I now use ffmpeg instead for speed. ffmpeg also extracts subtitles but the subtitles start out of sync. Then if I want the subtitles on, I use mplayer and adjust the sub delay until they are in sync.

If you find another command line tool that extracts subtitles for you then I am happy to help you develop a module for WSMPP.

For anyone who wants to know how I solved this problem...

I have found that EventGhost is capable of mapping the keys on the remote control. It is not a total subsitute for HIP because there are some keys which need to be transformed and I have not found a way for EventGhost to dispose of a keystroke and replace it with another one.

I just bought a new HP remote control and receiver to replace my DVICO remote which is thoroughly worn out. It looks like this:
http://www.amazon.com/HP-5070-2584-5070-25...ref=pd_sim_pc_1

But I can only seem to get some of the buttons to work. It seems as though some of the buttons are keyboard interface buttons but others just launch windows media center (of which I am not a fan).

Can I use HIP to reprogram this type of remote control?

thanks,
Paul

This is commonly fixed by re-installing the latest version of Java.

Hi Mark,

I am not sure what you mean by "WSMPP still doesn't work". It doesn't do anything on its own and it needs to be run by dragging files onto the jobs, using the command line to pass the file as a parameter or by using the post processing tasks in web scheduler/Tv Scheduler Pro.

From memory java is not required for WSMPP but it is needed to TV Sheduler Pro (TVSP).

You might like to try to reinstall Java. I have noticed that some installations break TVSP but reinstalling Java again seems to fix this.

If you still need help getting WSMPP operating then let me know.

Paul

you need to get the EPG data from somewhere. I am not exactly sure which features that version of web scheduler has but you may need to download the xmltv data for your machine. You might like to use software like epgstream.net to do this.

I use Project X to extract the subtitle file and I then use ffmpeg to compress the ts file audio and video streams and then delete the ts file.

Are you interested in information on how to do this? I am not sure if it will be totally compatible because my system relies on Australian broadcasting standards.

I worked this out myself. If anyone is interested, I used ffmpeg for the compression and I used projectx to only extract subtitles.

If you want to know more jet me know and I'll post my full solution.

I have had problems recently using projectx and mencoder to compress the recorded shows.

Does anyone automatically compress recorded shows anymore? What tools are you using?

QUOTE (hugoti @ Apr 2 2011, 11:25 PM) *
Got Windows 7 running on a E8400 CPU for some time now. Just recently the Complete Post Porcessor scripts are running to a complete crawl when it comes to multiplexing and other processing on the ts files. Checked the task manager and it's idle 99% of the time so not sure what's going on! Haven't changed anything on the system wise. It was very quick before (usually takes 5 mins now it takes approx 30 or more for the same files).

Anyone have come across this before? Anything I can check?

FYI I'm just using the standard remux bat script.

If the processor is low then you may have a disk bottleneck. Are you compresing across the network?

my win7 with an i7 runs a lot faster than my 10 year old system did.

Multiplexing is not cpu intensive but is disk intensive. Is there anything in your event log that may point to disk issues?

What did you swap to?

download my own. It was reasonably easy to setup, but I have not automated it yet:

-begware

There might be a better product out there but this was just the first that I found and I was in a rush tongue.gif

Do you mean that you want to setup a lab of computers to access an EPG for an application like webscheduler?

I am sorry, I don't really understand your question.

Thanks for the fix uryan. It is very convenient, even for me who used to write scrapers, I still like this service that you have produced.

Are you accepting donations for past service? I forget how valuable things are until they aren't available.

Both hosts seem to have data for all regions that are a week old. It would be great if this could be fixed.
