Just wondering if anyone has successfully configured the "users" file located in the data folder of DNTV Scheduler Pro folder in program files.

Configured correctly it's suppose to prompt for a user name and password for the web interface. This is important for me as I have it setup so that I can access it from other computers on the net and from my phone if need be. The safest way I can avoid leaving this open to the net is to VNC into the computer but this takes a while and gets a bit annoying.

I have tried different combinations but can seem to get it to prompt. I have the Quad tuner and I run the scheduler in service mode on Vista.

The content of the user file is -

# This file contains a list of user names and password pairs
# If there is at least one user name password pair set then user authentication will
# be enables
#
# This file also contains a list of Trusted IP addresses that you can make
# connections from without having to supply authentication details

# User name list, add each new user on a new line starting with user=
# user=<username>:<password>
#user=null_pointer:testpassword

# Trusted IP list
# Add each trusted IP on a new line starting with trusted=
# trusted=<IP>
#trusted=127.0.0.1

I have tried -

# User name list, add each new user on a new line starting with user=
# user=<test>:<test>
# user=test:test
user=<test>:<test>
user=test:test

Please help, Thanks smile.gif.

user=test:test should work, did you restart the DNTVSchedukerPro service?

Right click on the DNTVSchedukerPro icon in the notification tray, click on "options", click on "restart service", then "ok", then wait for the service to restart.

Thanks for the info. I tried modifying the the file again with the user=test:test but it still didn't work. I tried restarting the service but it came up with an error so I had to restart the PC.

Finally got it working. I removed everything in the user section and left only what you suggested and now it prompts for a password smile.gif. Heres what the file looks like now -

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# This file contains a list of user names and password pairs
# If there is at least one user name password pair set then user authentication will
# be enables
#
# This file also contains a list of Trusted IP addresses that you can make
# connections from without having to supply authentication details

# User name list, add each new user on a new line starting with user=

user=test:test

# Trusted IP list
# Add each trusted IP on a new line starting with trusted=
# trusted=<IP>
#trusted=127.0.0.1
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the help. Hope this can assist someone else in the future!
