I have a "old" (was bought in 2005/2006) remote. When I searched for a driver, I found that the receiver can be found under the name: Green Asia USB (also can be named: PC/Apple USB remote).
b.t.w. With the RC comes a small sized CD with a software created in Japanese (or Chinese or whatever) that I cannot read (I know English, Hebrew and bad English) and it has a very(!) limited functionality (there are only two options - "Close/Exit", "Options" and a choice of software it can handle - WMP6, WMP8 and WinAmp). All do not work properly on newer versions!
HiP finds the receiver ok (as an HID device), but the problem is that the receiver is repeatedly pushing a "null"/"blank" code when no button is pressed (as fast as it can). When a button is pressed, the code does changes (for the duration of the key-press and then it changes back to "blank" as the key is depressed). I found someone who wrote a small script for Grider v4 so it will ignore the "blank" code (and will pass on only codes that mean that a key was pressed).
Can HiP do this function (ignore the repeating "blank"/"null" code)? I really like the software.

Thanks,
Ori...

The HID interface does have a Check Scan Code option when when checked (and the appropriate value entered) will ignore these commands. If this does not work for you then you could try to see if the Girder plugin can be used by Hip. Beyond that, then I am afraid I cannot help.

When I try to do the test (so HiP will cache the 'Scan Code', sometime it shows it and sometime it doesn't. When I try to assign a new button I keep getting this code: 2232759585.7423 no mater if I press a button (on the RC) or not (if I press a button, on the RC, before clicking on the 'Add Value', then the code is different).
If the 'Add Button' function finds this code, why doesn't the 'Scan Code'? Can you help me solve this?

Thanks,
Ori...

I am sorry but without the hardware to see what is going wrong I cannot fix it for you. An easier way to experiment with the settings is to use the Test HID http://www.byremote.com.au/downloads/download.asp?SID=20 which is build on the same engine. If you can get that to work then you will be fine. Did you try the Girder plugin option?
